RM225/34A = rm6.62/Amp

CM GX 550 is RM5.43/Amp...

I am looking for something cheaper than CM... Heheheh...
*
Quality is better than cheaper. Would you want electrical ripple and noise reducing your hardware life? Not to mention, GX series is noisy when it's on full load. If you can find someone selling Seasonic 520W+ power supply, go for it. That will be the best available power supply.

So silverstone is the best to go with?
*
I think C-Zone sells Seasonic S12 II 520W at RM209. Storm88 said it on one of the thread and this is promotional price. This power supply is one of the best for 500 watter. Reviews:

Is it PSU write 650W it wont able to give 650W. it will be less than that?

user posted image

example of this PSU. is it just can provide 624W only?
*
PSU wattage label is usually the total load it can handle. Stronger 12V rail is recommended for current rigs. 624W is high for XFX 650W which is good.

There is a promotion for Seasonic PSUs right now.

Just went to Compu-zone Lowyat. No 199MYR, best price 240MYR. Sad.
*
You can order it from a user named lingloong. He sells it at RM199.

Seconded. Even a small price drop will be enough to push me for an x-series, since I'm already on the dangerous edge of being poisoned biggrin.gif.

Of course it is ok if you don't fully utilize it. Greenstar and some V-Power models will blow up or fry your hardware.

Can you suggest me a better model/brand? (budget rm500)

That budget is too low for better card. Stick to your GTX460.

What do you intend to do with your PC? RM500 can get you Silverstone Strider Plus 750W. Viewnet sells it at RM499. If you are planning to SLI GTX460, XFX XXX 650W power supply is more than enough. Viewnet sells that at RM369. If you are sticking to single card. Just go for Silverstone Strider 500W. It is priced at RM219 and it will be more than enough for your GTX460.

I see. Something must be wrong with your power supply then. Is it very old? Nvidia recommends 450W for GTX460. Maybe slightly more for OC version.

It's either something wrong with your hardware or your PSU. Did you check your temperatures? Go google for HWMonitor if you don't have one.

You also need to clean the heatsinks. Including processor heatsink. Dont forget to reapply a fresh thermal paste when you reinstall the processor heatsink.

but then i calculate my usage, is around 298W.
but my psu the the +12 rail is just 240W only. although there said max power is 450W.
if like this doesnt mean that i have to change my psu???

btw, what's the different between PCAR and PMSR??? i cannot find the meaning and also the difference of it.
*
ATX-450W/P4 looks like Icute power supply. Did I guessed it?

Anyway, as long as your graphic cards stays 9500GT. It will run fine. Don't save too much on the power supply when it's time to upgrade your graphic card. It's the heart of your computer.

i didnt told in previous post?
mine is i-care power supply.
model is ATX-450W/P4.

i not plan to upgrade the graphic card though, i think so.
but then i going to upgrade proc from p4 to q8300.
*
I don't see any post that says i-care. Never heard of it too. But seeing the way it's labelled reminds me of Icute. This is a cap ayam brand.

Hardware these days rely on +12V rail. Your PSU has only 240W on +12V. When it's labelled 450W but having 240W for +12V doesn't mean it can go over the rated current. It will cause problems. Bigger problem for cap ayam PSUs. Since you are staying with your 9500GT, just upgrade and see how it goes. If it doesn't start, look for FSP Saga 400W power supply. That will cost RM129 from Viewnet.

so confirm is cap ayam... damn...
but then now i have to wait my proc to reach and change then see how it goes.
FSP saga 400W??? is it stable?
i got mushkin 500W offer, is it ok?
then got the other one,
http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?pr...ategory_id=3575

compare this 3, which one is better?
*
Avoid Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus and GX series. They are fail power supplies. As for FSP, I never heard any complaints about it. Their power supplies are mostly true power.

I couldn't find any reviews for Mushkin 500W. You gonna have to try it yourself to find out.

High ripple for this one.

i cant really find about the spec of the FSP saga PSU. anyone got the full link of it?
and mind to know why avoid some of the CM PSU as what you said?
*
Could find this for FSP Saga 400W so far.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817104953

I'll try to dig more info for it.

As for CM PSU, Extreme Power Plus and GX has labels that says more than it can actually do. They will have high electrical noise if they are utilized 60-80% out of maximum capacity depending on model too. For example, EPP 500W can only do 450W, more than that will cause high electrical noise.

hmm.gif So is the Gigabyte Odin GT 800W good?
Maybe I will plan to CFX 6970+OCing on SB.
*
Hmmm, try Silverstone Strider Plus 750W(RM499). This is highly rated PSU. It will be more than enough for it.

There is a reason why Odin Pro is RM499 for 800W. I couldn't find any reviews for it. The Silverstone I recommended is 80Plus Silver certified. Here is the review.

icic, so means that if high ripple then not so good is it?
here's the other side for FSP http://www.fspgroupusa.com/saga-400r/p/409.html
so means that u recommend FSP is it? how's about corsair gigabyte odin?
my budget is around 100+/-.

Added on January 15, 2011, 11:48 amfor the FSP one is double rail one?
why some i heard is better to be single rail?
*
High ripple is bad for your hardware because it makes your hardware electronic components work harder to get clean power. It will shorten the life of your hardware.

Corsair and Gigabyte Odin will be way over your budget. FSP 400W is the closest to your budget. Viewnet sells it at RM129.

TechnoG already explained about the rails.

seriously need to thanks to TechnoG and TristanX.
you 2 did help me a lot, appreciate it.

so mind to know which one you recommend?
FSP, seasonic, acbel, corsair or mushkin?
any of you have use mushkin PSU, any review?
*
Just go with FSP or Mushkin(if you are willing to test it out). The rest is either way off your budget or having crappy quality if they have low budget models. Seasonic was having a promotion but I don't know whether it's still available or not. A user called lingloong is selling it at RM199 for 520W model if you want a quality one.

lingloong is selling Seasonic. Yeah, it's one of the best manufacturer. Even some other brand uses Seasonic and rebrands it as their own.
