icic, so means that if high ripple then not so good is it?
here's the other side for FSP http://www.fspgroupusa.com/saga-400r/p/409.html
so means that u recommend FSP is it? how's about corsair gigabyte odin?
my budget is around 100+/-.

Added on January 15, 2011, 11:48 amfor the FSP one is double rail one?
why some i heard is better to be single rail?
*
single rail and double rail doesn't matter much, but of course a single rail would be much better. But do take note that some PSU do offer virtual rail, like Seasonic. Thus 12V1 and 12V2 wink.gif

Yep, most of the PSU are actually OEM units from FSP, AcBel and Seasonic.
take Corsair and XFX for an example, they are actually relabeled Seasonic PSUs.

And yes, high ripple will damage other hardware in your rig.

I can't think of any resellers @ LYP carrying XFX PSU. hmm.gif

on LYN, I'm sure you can get it. But the problem is whether they do keep the stock for it.

Well, CM Silent Pro Gold do have high ripple that may be a potential hardware destroyer/

jonnyGuru certified, but it's on a Corsair 1200W PSU.

1) MSI 785GM-E51
2) AMD Athlon II X3 440
3) Corsair Gaming Memory 2GB DDR3 1333MHz (CMXG2GX3M1A1333C9) (2GBx2)
4) Western Digital Blue Caviar 500GB
5) maybe 4 casing fans
6) will add HIS HD 5750 in the future...in the mean time using IGP only..

does PSU FSP SAGA 400W suitable with that kind of setup with added that GC?..  icon_question.gif

thanks in advace...

You need a 450W PSU according to AMD's website.
Maybe you can create a new thread, your build parts selection is terrible.

hi im planning to upgrade my PC.. but i dont wanna change my psu.. im using cooler master extreme power 460...  my pc will be core i3 550 n 2 sata HDD n HD5850.. can this psu drive my PC spec?? or i need to upgrade to Cooler master GX5xx series...
*
No, you can't. You need a 500W True Power PSU to run it.

Your CM EPP 460W continuous output is only 312W.
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/fullimage.php?image=10157

Avoid CM GX series! Well known for it's high ripple that will kill your hardwares.

Just get a FSP SAGA 500W...  RM169...  biggrin.gif
Best bang per buck!!!    brows.gif  brows.gif
*
it's RM165 smile.gif
Seasonic Silence Pro 500W @ RM199, Silverstone Strider 500W @ RM199 and FSP SAGAII 500W @ RM165. If you have the budget to get the Seasonic unit, then go get it.

Will increasing the clock speeds increase voltage ?

If lets say my PC BSOD , will it damage my GPU ? Yup will consider buying new PSU soon.
*
No, you increase voltage then only you increase your clock speeds.

Don't listen to that person, he is just crapping. BSOD won't damage your GPU, and 500W is enough even if you OC your GTX 560 Ti.
The fastest GTX 560 Ti on the planet, the Gigabyte SOC version also recommends 500W. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=3729#ov

Heck, 750W can even run 2xGTX570 doh.gif

increase your cpu clock speed (increase fsb or increase multi), if the system not stable, only then increase your voltage. not increase voltage from the beginning. beside, you have to see ram speed oso (if you increase fsb)
you can oc your BE without increase fsb, just increase the cpu multi will do.
1. yes it wont damaged your GPU.
2. the way i ask to upgrade to 750W is i think upgrade to somethin 550W or 560W or 620W like that is not worth. thats all

edited : one more thing, other forumer (i blieve they are very otai in OC : from OC united) oso suggest to me to upgrade my psu to 750W if i wana OC my RiG even mine is low end spec. yes, i can upgrade to somethin seasonic 620 or strider 600 but again, its not worth.. correct me if i'm wrong
*
Meh. Increasing your voltage first is recommended, what if he keep spamming the clock speed first? that will lead to the whole PC to hang if there isn't enough voltage. smile.gif

750W PSU don't come in cheap, compared to 500W @ RM200. If you think you buying a 600W+ PSU to overcome the 'not worth' value, what about the budget? and the PSU ageing process will affect the combined power output stated at a true power PSU.

Firstly, what is your rig specification? if just a simple GTX 560 Ti OCed needs a 750W, then what about HD6990 OC? 2000Watts?

Rig : phenom II X4 945 3.0Ghz
        hyper 212+
Asus M4A87TD/USB3 (i know this low end mobo not suitable to push until 4Ghz)
        KVR 2Gb*2 ddr1333
        sapphire 4850 512d3
        WD GC 1Tb
        ST56F

of coz higher true power psu not cheap. so i just hold my plan to OC due to low end mobo + old psu (low rate power) . its about 2 years edy for my psu. i dont know if you are expert in OC but since i OC my X2, what i've learn is increase fsb 1st, for BE, increase cpu multi 1st, if not stable (BSOD) then only increase the vcore.

beside, have to watch the ram speed oso. higher ram speed (OC) oso have to increase Vdimm, or lower the multi (ram divider) if wana keep at stock vdimm. last time i oso have been adviced in OC thread to change psu 1st before OC my X2 (before i bought this ST56F)

anyway just do correct me if i'm wrong. its better than you face me down  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
*
Yes, either way will do. But you see, when your rig BSOD, you're taking even longer time to OC your rig. You've to start all over again sad.gif
But I think that way is the most standard procedure used by most people.

you raise your CPU clock speed, of course you have to raise your RAM clocks also la laugh.gif

BE is unlock multiplier proc. dont need to increase the fsb. we can increase the multi proc only to reach higher clock. but if we increasing the fsb, the ram speed automatically will increase. thats why we need to set lower divider for the ram if want to run at stock Vdimm.

even its not bsod, we also take long time, becoz we need to boot the system everytime we increase the fsb. smile.gif
*
Hmm. Don't know much about how does BE CPUs work, so I'm in no position to say how AMD overclock mechanism works.

boot the system? BSOD around 10 times vs boot 1 time, which is the smarter way?

all this teeny weeny stuff use very little power. If I'm not mistaken, the size(GB) of the RAM affects the power consumption sad.gif
I think it is around 10W++ for a standard 2GB stick.

Hi, i need to know how good is NZXT Hale90 850W?
*
How good? it is a very good PSU, just maybe the price is a little bit too steep if you import one here. laugh.gif
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817116012, $179. Should be around RM600+ if you import one back here. And do take note that the Seasonic X-850W is RM659 only, and it comes with warranty.

IINM, the newer Hale90 doesn't come with sleeved cables, unlike the older one.

Thanks for reply. Glad to know that it is a good PSU.
i can somehow get NZXT Hale90 1000W ship here for RM 865 including shipment & postage to my location.
Is this a good deal or bad? rclxub.gif

BTW, i believe i'm okay with non sleeved cables, but it must be modular or fully modular PSU, easier for upgrade!
*
Slightly expensive, you can get the Silverstone Strider Gold 1000W for around RM800.
that is why you can't find NZXT Hale90 locally, it is a risk for the distributor if they bring it in.

I have a buddy of mine who is also using NZXT Hale90 1000W,

how does xigmatek 750 compares with the selection?

Xigmatek 750W? I thought that is quite old already? my previous PSU tongue.gif

new one is 700W. And the answer is no, why?
Seasonic 750W which is much better, cost cheaper and IINM, the warranty is longer.
