They suspected only . for piston and piston ring , they need to take out the intake manifold ,which is the plastic cover with Honda VTEC wording and u can see the piston there already . they told me it's in good condition , no bent nothing . if there was some jerking , sure got some water went into ur engine already . it won't be much . but u need to drain the engine oil ASAP .

Mine probably more than urs .
*
I see. I met two flood incidents. One was mid last year and the other was early this year. I wasn't aware of the risk that the water may entered the engine therefore i didnt took any actions, haihz..
I just went 20,000km servicing last month. It includes changing engine oil. I believe they already drain the engine oil and refill a new one. I think abit late already.

If that's the case , never mind already . coz the water entered might be very little . won't do any major damage. Don't worry .

Hopefully my pistons or engine wont get rusted.

Two days ago my wife parked our car beside the coffee shop and had breakfast. After she came back, she saw this:
Attached Image mad.gif

According to the nearby shop, an idiot driving a white toyota altis tried to parked the car but somehow bumped on to my car and ran away. vmad.gif
The bottom bumper was kemek and there is a deep cut. No clips were broken.
Luckily my front headlamp and metal body was not affected and the bumper is still intact. Currently I just leave it la since it will not rust, haihz.. bye.gif

By the way, anyone installed baby car seats here? Just discuss whether are we installing it the right way.. hmm.gif

So far, the death cause by airbag involved only the Honda City from year 2003 to 2008. As far as I know, there are no incident involving Honda City year 2009 till current. I guess Honda is playing it safe by replacing the airbag since it was also made by TAKATA.
*
I doubt so. I believe our Honda city is still using Takata just that they did extra sealing process to prevent the propellant from exposing to humidity and high heat. But this is just a temporary solution. Currently those older hondas are at higher risk. After a few years, i wont be surprise if our honda city is called for recall. Well, tat is just my guess..

anyone using LLUMAR windows tint? how's the performance?
*
I am using llumar t4-50. My wife complaint it is still quite bright and hot. My daughter who sits at the rear side seats is always sun tanning. So i bought amerguard sunshade. i should have add a few hundred bucks to upgrade to llumar crystal 6.

My FS on Llumar Top70, sides on Crystal 6 and rear on Silver. My car is still rather hot; as compared to my other car on Vkool Elite.

Llumar is slightly cheaper than 3M and Vkool, but it appears to me the heat rejection is poorer as well.

Groovy sunshade costs around RM300. It is more worthwhile than paying the premium price for top tier tinted film.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm using Groovy 4+1 sunshade and heat rejection is somewhat good with the LLumar Diamond 6 tint...

From outside, cannot see inside especially at night...

Are u using the groovy snap-on magnet sunshades for honda city? May i know how much u bought?

The snap-on actually caught my attention, looking at how it is fitted I wonder if it would "scratch" the door?
*
I am also not sure coz i bought the amerguard. I wan to know some feedback and compare the price. The snap on seems rather convenient.

It's not the magnet type... I bought rm300+... Now I see Amerguard for rm270-290 which is cheaper and same quality as Groovy...
*
Thanks for the reply. The amerguard now is selling at rm290 but not snap-on magnet. For those interested, can consider buying in 11street if got coupon.
When i just made the purchase of amerguard, i came across groovy snap-on magnet and regretted purchasing the amerguard. But i read some facebook comments that it was around rm500+. To me, i feel rm200+ for sunshades is already quite expensive, not to mention rm500+.

I have the Groovy sunshade, but not the snap-on magnet type as well. So i guess it should be almost same as the Amerguard.

The snap-on magnet looks like more convenient. But come to think of it, i hardly remove them after installation.

I bought from Bakuso - http://bakusoracing.com.my/. Can't remember the exact price; i think it is RM300.
*
Thanks for your input. I just got a quote of the snap-on magnet type for our Honda city from Groovy.
4 sides: Rm370
Rear: Rm260
4 sides + rear (combo deal) : Rm580
Free delivery

Quite expensive.. Almost twice the price of amerguard.

I knock my city on my auto gate and the back bumper paint cracked like a 50Sen size What should I do? Ignore or bring to shop and re spray that part?
*
Just ignore la coz it keeps coming back doh.gif. My car already have countless scratch, small dent, big dent and holes rclxub.gif . It should be ok if its on your bumper since is not metal.

Time to share some updates.
There is something wrong with the center cabin light. The bulb seems ok because the light can light up when i move the switch at certain position. Will highlight this issue during my next service.
Quite satisfied with the amerguard sunshade. Now the rear is much cooler when on the aircon for a couple of minutes.

For those who have babies, u can consider the diono radian child car seats. I bought two diono radian r120 and installed it at the rear seats in rear facing position. Diono radian is famous for its narrow width therefore i can fit one more adult at the back. Due to it is also a booster seat, it takes up alot of legroom therefore i bought a diono angle adjuster so the front passenger seat have move back a few more inch.
Just drove to Singapore and Penang. Quite satisfied with the amerguard sunshade and diono radian car seats.

Like to ask u all sifu something. I checked my engine coolant reserved tank in the morning without starting my car. The water level was in the middle so i pour the honda antifreeze coolant to the max line. I drove a couple of minutes and i checked the engine coolant reserved tank again. The water level was 1 inch above the max line. Is this normal? Thanks!

I'm having the same issue with the cabin light switch also. Also if you use LED bulb, the light will flicker on when idling...

Regarding the coolant, yes it is normal as the coolant is boiling and expanding d... Once cold, you'll see it's at the max line again...

Coolant level increase when engine is hot is normal.
*
Thanks for the reply. So it will not do any damage to the car if the water level is above the max line when the engine is still hot, am i correct to say that?

Yes, no damage as long as it is in the coolant reservoir tank. The max level is there just to put a cap so that you won't fill up the whole coolant reservoir tank.

Thanks for the information!

if change rims from S spec to E spec , will it void the warranty?
*
I asked the customer service officer whether can i changed my e spec rim to v spec rims. He told me it will void the warranty if u want to claim anything that is related to the rims. They can even blame the rims for abs failure even though it is original honda rims. He say Honda has been pretty strict recently.

that is not called strict, strict is diagnose the problem entirely, find the actual root cause, present the diagnostic report  to prove that the custom changes cause the problem, before throwing out warranty void threaten words..

in that case, they can simply say car washing will void the warranty since water does damage the parts

they just find excuses to avoid responsibility for the so called 5 years warranty..
*
Nothing much we can do. We wan the 5 years warranty, we got to play by their rules.

Hi,
Would like to ask our 6th generation Honda City for year 2014, 2015, 2016 still using TAKADA airbag?  If not, what brand Honda use for 6th new Honda city?

Recently have lots issue on TAKADA airbag which is big customer for Honda. Just today KL have 1 people get kill due to airbag problem.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/malaysian-wo...-050730737.html

Thanks
*
Honda Malaysia do not want to disclose it as it will affects their sales so no one knows.

Some car makers in the US still selling new cars with defective takata airbags

Wrong.
Honda declared recall to save their own ass from lawsuits.
So far their recall process has been slow and almost non-existent.

Only replace airbag driver side, no stock lah, appointment full lah, lots of excuses.
*
Yeah.. It seems like Honda Malaysia's main priority is to send the recall letters to consumers. But whats the use of the letter when they dont even have any available stocks? When accident happens, they still dare to push the blame to consumers for not changing the airbag inflator! The more they drag, the worst their image brand will be.. But well, here is Malaysia so wat to do..
