Just came across this forum. Been owning a C class coupe for less than a year. The ride is on the hard side and the suspension does not sound solid - sounds "empty" when going over uneven road. And the build quality is not as strong as I had expected. Sound proof is bad as I could hear loud wind noise when I am driving at 150km/h and above. Tyre noise is loud too even at low speed. Anyone experienced the same?

The coupe is meant to be sporty thus the hard set up on the suspension ! I haven't not driven a car that I don't hear wind noise over 100 km/h! Any recommendation ? I believed yours came with continental Tyres! If ti is a csc 5, this tyre noise would be very audible after 35k of mileage!

I understand the setup is supposed to be sportier and hence harder suspension. But I feel the suspension has some defect which causes the "empty" sound. The wind noise is unusually loud though. And the tires of not mistaken are Michelin Primacy

Hi guys,

say i just got my new e250 w213 merc and decide I would like to change the rims to another compatible 19inch merc rims at an outside shop coz it seems much more cost effective. Does this void the warranty? I asked the SA and he says it is not recommended as it may damage the tyre sensor or something.

anyone has some idea on this?

appreciate the help. thanks

Your SA must be a newbie in car line! If you change a new set with the same profile and I see no way it will affect the suspension or sensor ! BTW, rim and tyre are wear and tear items and don't think it's covered by the warranty! I must say the AV rim is ugly ! Preferred the AmG multi spoke rims! tongue.gif

Mercedes nowadays lack the solidity that it used to had from its door thunk to the ride that feels ordinary only. Even vw is superior in ride quality. The empty sound on the suspension has already evident on the previous gen e-class. Nowadays bmw is even more comfortable than mercedes. At 1st i was blown away by the new generation of mercedes because of its superb tech & epic-looking interior but it still lacks the plushness. The things that look soft are not soft enough. Proves ? Try the ride on the 3 series & c class or sit inside the new 5 series & the new e class and touch the interior parts. hmm.gif

My C350e fc has improved to 3.4l/100km. I've only been to petrol station 3 times since early May.

impressive fc...

based on your experience, what is the longest distance with full electric drive? And how long do you need to charge it from 0% to 100% with normal plug?

The longest distance I've drived with just the battery is about 20-24km depending on your average speed.

I don't really keep track as I charge it overnight but it's about 3 hours with the provided plug

huh ? why comparing current car with old car and comparing with different segment? confused.gif . Surely the w212 had a better ride because its in a higher category.

Just got back from C&C service centre and was told I could get a replacement for my 2 front windows to a double glazed windows to reduce the wind noise during highway drive. Has any of you done that before? It's called the Acoustic Comfort Package. Customers can actually buy that add-on in the UK & US market.

I just filed the complaint today, will get mine replaced next week.

1) Did it make a lot of difference to the noise on highway?

2) Did you use safety film for your tinting? My concern is that this double glazed glass will be thicker than the normal one, hence can't use the .5mm safety film anymore.
