Hye guys, i am an owner of w212 e class facelift amg. i wanna ask regarding chrome strip at the front skirting and its overall ground clearance. I believe its almost the same set up as the new c class amg variant. My car always scratch it's underneath (middle) when going on a speed bumps. Never had it with my previous cars. Is amg variant too low? Very irritating larr. Btw i never scratch the front chrome strip so far. if i were to accidentally scratch it one day, wheres an affordable place to replace or even repair it?

btw do u guys ever noticed the wiper juddering? like not oscillate or swing smoothly after couple minutes of raining? very cheap engineering from mercedes if this is normal.

Didn't drive my e250 for like a month because my wife has been using it. Then i noticed the car has a slight vibration from 100km/h and above. i've sent the car for allignment and balancing. Totally didn't work. What are the things that normally cause this kind of issue? Rim bengkok? accident? mounting?

it didn't sway or pull left/right. it just feels uneven, like a shaking on the steering. Normally any car will start to feel the shake as u get to higher speed but not this early speed, not for german conty cars at least. i bought it early last year edtion E. i thought mounting problem is only evident when idling in which this car is still idling like butter even when in D. Drive shaft? hmm sounds expensive. i really thought that its just the wheel maybe the rim got dent, but

Any new gearbox is worth the price because surely the new techs will offer a more efficient transfer of power, hence the fuel efficiency. Performance wise, some maybe doesn't offer a significant improvement on sprint time but real world situation u will feel that the car accelerate marginally faster and lighter because u always got a gear for any speed and on any revs. Shifting speed surely feels faster and shift quality should feel sharper. Not to mention the coasting function and the ability to skip gear tech upon hard acceleration. 7G was well known for having a slow respond even in sport mode and weirdly-programmed gearbox.

As for buying the c-class right now, i think if u could wait, might just wait for the facelift next year because current one already since Jan 2014. Probably with new sets of engine as well. But if u can't wait, just grab the 9G right now.

Mercedes nowadays lack the solidity that it used to had from its door thunk to the ride that feels ordinary only. Even vw is superior in ride quality. The empty sound on the suspension has already evident on the previous gen e-class. Nowadays bmw is even more comfortable than mercedes. At 1st i was blown away by the new generation of mercedes because of its superb tech & epic-looking interior but it still lacks the plushness. The things that look soft are not soft enough. Proves ? Try the ride on the 3 series & c class or sit inside the new 5 series & the new e class and touch the interior parts.

huh ? why comparing current car with old car and comparing with different segment? . Surely the w212 had a better ride because its in a higher category.

haha... if u want those, get the recond japan spec. i would actually buy the recond because the cars tend to provide high spec and cheaper service cost

if u prefer comfort, silent and efficiency all the way, in which the size fitted to these cars aren't known about, get Hankook ventus s1 noble2 or s1 evo2.

Go for e350e. Its got a much needed air suspension because the normal spring is quite hard, rough & harsh for its intended purpose. Some more u can raise the ground clearance so that u will not scratch its underbody part on speedbumps and u can lower the ride on high speed for ultimate stability. However u hv to pay around 5 figure if the air system goes wrong after the warranty ends. But if u were to choose the best car in this class, i suggest the new 5 series because its simply a better car. Unbelievably comfortable even in normal spring. Camry-like but with handling that is second to none. But the interior design is a bit meh. Better yet, wait for the ckd 530e that will be priced lower like the e350e with tons of features.
