WTA, is the Seiko watch as picture above, is it available to buy off the shelf from any watch selling stores? or the modification need to be done by oneself?

What would be the selling price?

Still thinking this watch suit my taste.

Am afraid you can buy off the shelf. The pic is a moded SKX007. You can buy the parts and mod yourself or try buying from an online retailer like yobokies and ask him to change to your specifications.

As for the price, ball park figures for the parts are:
- RM80 for the Mercedes hands
- RM175 for the double domed sapphire glass
- RM120 for the ceremic insert
- RM150 for the strap

Not too sure if the bezzel was changed. This will be another RM150.

As for the watch, it depends on how cheap you can get an used unit. Might need to polish, service and water proof again. That will set you back another RM250.

The watch itself, yes you can. But for the mod parts, they’re all aftermarket parts. As for the WR part, you won’t know until you give it a pressure test.

there are a few modders out there were you can buy the watch readily-made from.

BUT

it wont be cheap, AND they're not based here in Msia, so either they dont ship here, or the cost of shipping is gonna be a killer.

SO

you get better chances by buying the parts separately, and have it assembled locally by many watch repairman here.

That’s all I can think of. As for watchmen recommendation, I’m not too sure. Been too long since I’ve modded 1. Actually it’s not that difficult to DIY, maybe you can watch a few videos on YouTube to get the rough idea.

heard it was just a rumours before.

IMO, well it doesn't affect South East Asia as the model still available. You still can find it here in Malaysia.

Yes you can say so. The production of SKX007/009/011 has stopped and whatever you can find in the shops and online retailers are the residual stocks.

HOWEVER

the stopping of SKX007/009/011 is nothing surprising when Seiko has moved on and introduced a new reiteration (albeit downgraded in terms of waterproofing) of the classic SKX look with this new seiko 5 range

Apa takut run out of stock? that is only if you're a "purist" lah. a few online sellers now produce and sell SKX case copies and hey, when assembled with other SKX parts they can look just exactly like one which nobody can tell it apart anyway.
