Both use arrow hour hands
Both is priced circa rm1.2k
Both also have similar looks.

QUOTE(Naka7a @ Jul 29 2017, 02:22 PM) Wished I have that much of money but no leh... Can't be buying similar watch, nanti redundant. In fact I am torn between buying and modifying an Skx or buy a monster/shrouded monster outright **edit** Oh wait just noticed you said tuna, not baby tuna. QUOTE(Naka7a @ Aug 1 2017, 09:14 AM) After adjusting I don't think it was even tested. Just pass it back, bayar Rm20 and said if got any more problem just bring it back to them. The ship repairman storyA giant ship engine failed. The ship’s owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine. Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a young. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom. Two of the ship’s owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed! A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars. “What?!” the owners exclaimed. “He hardly did anything!” So they wrote the old man a note saying, “Please send us an itemized bill. The man sent a bill that read: Tapping with a hammer………………….. $ 2.00 Knowing where to tap…………………….. $ 9,998.00 Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference! QUOTE(ZintanthraX @ Aug 1 2017, 09:16 AM) depends. better email and ask. i have asked about a 70's seiko 5 and they say no service because no parts.TSC in Amcorp mall quoted me rm1.2k, which is pretty crazy. i think u get better chance with those old ahpek watch shops. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 1 2017, 10:00 AM) usually ur best option is to hunt for a donor watch with same movement on ebay etc...then do a transplant. exactly.like this one - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Seiko-6349...m-/252516499979 Anyway, i kinda lost interest in restoring that old watch and prefer to put my money into buying new watches. |

QUOTE(ZintanthraX @ Aug 1 2017, 10:15 AM) good idea. currently the watch is keeping a good time, just that the power reserve is getting lesser and i need to tap the watch case in order for it to start moving. i'll just wait till it completely stops and find a donor. if your watch is still moving, then a simple service will only cost rm120 without parts replacement. probably just a cleanup and oiling where necessary, and regulate. no need to transplant because when you factor in cost to purchase a donor + workmanship + possibly even the donor need to be serviced before installation, then LPPL.in my case, the movement was water damaged and rust due to rotten o-ring seal so it only makes sense for a total movement transplant. i am still sitting on it, since i have other watches lol. ada pakai, tak ada pun takpa. QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 1 2017, 10:17 AM) something like that i think they could probably repair...or just get them to oil it only...perhaps change the mainspring. and if thongsia cant do for you, just find any other watch repair shop, google around, there are a few in KLas always, best way is just to go to thongsia and see what they say. By the way, in services board, theres a guy who does watch repairs too enova This post has been edited by andrewhtf: Aug 2 2017, 10:02 PM |
