A German site mentioned that the 6309 reissue will have titanium carbide ( ceramic ) bezel. Interesting spec.

Interesting spec. hmm, multi-colored ceramic bezel isnt cheap, and the price of the reissues doesnt really reflect that it has something expensive in it http://www.seiko.de/home/presse/nicht-nur-...d-neu-aufgelegt |

QUOTE(enviro @ Dec 1 2015, 10:34 PM) But that is a seiko watch Corp site so might be quite possible. actually, looking at that german...Sapphire crystal used to be high end only at one time.lol the titanium carbide should refer to the bezel, not the insert. and if u look at the coke and pepsi bezels, u can see its pvd like...which can probably only mean its a titanium carbide nitride coating with most likely a titanium bezel...similar to the pvd tuna cases |

Ceramic insert like rolex and omega will be expensive so I agree it could be pvd hard face on bezel top. Any type scratch resistant bezel is better than plain aluminium insert though.
