Just buy a movement from ebay for under 100 bucks and transplant la. Kan senang..

Unless the whole thing looks like a 17th century shipwreck, the dial, hands and stem can be transplanted.

Since thongsia won't service for you, you need to find some uncle shop who will do it first. This is the hardest. Avoid those shopping center or high class looking ones since they won't bother with an old Seiko.

He will most likely tell you to buy new watch since no more parts.

Tell him that you should be able to source the parts... ie. ebay for him.

Get something like this... its cheap... hints that the date wheel might have problem... and since its india... the dial probably repainted but you don't need to care about all those.. since you just need the movement.

ya tho I've never heard of anyone replacing a 7s26 with another... more often it gets replaced with a 4r36 or 6r15.
a nh25 aka oem 7s26 used to cost around usd25-30...thats why not many actually buy donor pieces with 7s26.

Haha well, I did just that! the 7S26A on my SKX399 diver was failing, so I bought a used but running donor watch to harvest the 7S26B movement. Had to swap over the day wheel which was daunting but it all worked out in the end.

An oem 7S26 cost around 45 bucks on the bay now excluding shipping, so prices have went up.

The thought of transplanting a 4R36 did cross my mind but too much technicality involved for an amateur like me, so abandoned project. Besides I can always hack by applying reverse pressure on the crown, and unscrewing the crown to handwind didn't exactly appeal to me.

I am planning to get a seiko watch budget around RM300-400. Preferably brown strap and white dial(black also ok), any suggestion?
