but suddenly so many people bought it recently sweat.gif

able to resist cos i don't think i'll wear it often... hoping to get a seiko, skx007, urushi also resisted... i think the sdgm003 also slowly dying off laugh.gif
*
You buy then will stick one.. All watches can be wore less often, doesn't mean shouldn't be bought tongue.gif

Snowflake is in Isetan, maybe that one is best fit brows.gif

The Alpinist is one of those watches whereby you need to get know, to understand and then fall deeply in love.

edit: Maybe its ur strap problem.
*
It's certainly pretty, just it doesn't get as much mileage as the others. The SARBs are certainly in the chopping board if I ever need to consolidate, but at the moment I don't so in it stays..

In fact my 033 is probably close to an exit as well, perhaps ahead of the alpinist..

Consolidation is just an excuse to oneself to start buying new more expensive stuffs. tongue.gif

I think we're too far down the path to be a one watch person again.
*
You know better tongue.gif

Good thing is my collection thus far is varied enough in looks so they have their own time on my wrist..

that blue threaded strap would look much nicer if the hands are also blue.

u think the replacement model would be a upgrade or downgrade?
*
Feels like a downgrade to me. 4R over the 6R, big crown and i think it cost more just to have because of the Presage name?

I honestly don't know what is the upgrade here, maybe someone else can better see it.

HK mana ada seiko? Rolex alot lah. biggrin.gif

But seriously, I've been hunting for the same a couple years ago to no avail. In the rare occasion that one shows up on ebay, they normally ask way too much for it.

The only alpinist I found NOS was the SBCJ021 with lume dial.

He shop apek also wanted too much for a watch that had been sitting on display window under the sun for > a decade.

Technically mine's the GWM5610-1. It's like the do-it-all watch and I love it to bits.

It's solar powered, forever accurate due to multi-band... I use it to set my other watches.. save a couple second opening up an app for it, tough as nails, has world time for travel, auto-led at night and its "plain" enough to  wear it to the office sometimes. Plus it doesn't hurt that it looks like the original G-shock.
*
Aye, I love mine to bits even though it competes again much more expensive pieces in my collection.

Nice watch anyway. It has the appeal with green dial gold and cream colors. I can see some people will like that.

Its like a 5000m water resistant rating to a fellow who desk dives.

I've been searching, but dang are they so expensive these days? Not discontinued, right? Can't find in the 1.2-1.3k region? Anyone know cheaper places to buy? Sigh...
*
Yea, I think the combination of a weak ringgit and US market opening to JDM means the price of the new ones haven't really trended down.

I think occasionally Amazon and eBay throw up some decent deals, but shipping might just kill it.
