Is BASF a good company to work for?

if you have sap experience and somewhat relevant past experience then most probably you will get selected.

depends on your expectations, but for me, it was pretty good.
quite laid back, and you can work from home once a week (depends on your manager)..
overall, i have a great experience there

received call from HR saying that they are in the midst of conducting reference checks. Is it a good sign?

it's normal, all candidates will go through reference checks. BASF is quite a good company, most of the employees are young and energetic, though recently cost cutting and restructuring may have some impact on the benefits and workload. Overall it's a good company.
