Tarantula has problems since launch until now. dont become a razer fan boy and everytihng razer. lol...the keyboard isn't worth its price. many bad reviews in razer blue prints (lousy F keys, cant use keyboard during POST, stupid shiny surface = fingerprint magnet + easy scratch, optional "lamp post"...bla bla). that's why i ended up with my G15.

G15 have better quality when compare to Razer's keyboard

answering as a neutral and not as a razer fanboy, the probs that you highlighted doesn't seem to happen to me...

lousy F keys = so far so good...touchwood

can't use keyboard during POST = no prob on my side, just need to set you mobo to allow USB keyboard

fingerprint magnet = agreed...which shiny surface doesnt...a little extra care would reduce that...

easy scratch = maintenance and ruggedness of use...

optional lamp post = it's just an option... no need to buy it if you don't use it...

i've used it for about 1 month plus now...so far so good...

conclusion, it's not ALL tarantula keyboard has problem...it maybe due to manufacturing defect which sometimes is unavoidable...otherwise, it's a good keyboard...

hmmm...but i dont expect to be gentle on gaming keyboard! lol...cos gaming is rough. so i expect mine would have many scratches and finger prints on shiny surface. maybe first few months i would care to clean. but after that, i might get lazy and it will end up looking like a germ surface.

hmm...i read ppl with usb supported mobo also same prob. well, maybe u are the lucky one. hahaha...but 300+ for a keyboard without LED and LCD...hmm...the hyper response on the keys are to be questioned. cos i dont remember tapping my keys in FPS games. LOL...

As for Mantis should i go for Control or speed?

most ppl recommend Krait when playing only RTS games...

i'm liking the krait more by the day. in fact i'm thinking of replacing my copperhead with the krait. yes, call me crazy but the krait is so easy to use. the smaller size of the krait suits me quite well.

For FPS, go for the Mantis Speed with DeathAdder,

For RTS, any Razer mouse will be fine with the Mantis Control.

For both types of games, any Razer mouse with the eXactMat.

i think one would be fine playing games be it FPS RTS on mantis speed with any razer mouse on the fly sensitivity set to suit the game. from the reviews, mantis control seems a lil too rough. lol...
