Update: Chris Paladino from Microsoft Community Team confirmed that downloads are being blocked from wrong regions but states they're not actually banning the illegal accounts. Like him, we are now "still waiting to hear back the official word."

they shud not delete, in fact they should embed in the xbox software to not download the content if the IP address doesn't match the region. (for region controlled downloads lar)

Servers are too big to use in the water pipes. Besides wouldnt want them to get wet.

I managed to change my locale to singapore but I cant change my contact info..its a fake US one...so does anyone know how to change my contact info?.......someone please help!

Its quite easy to change locale. But you cant change where you initially registered your account. So if u registered a US account, ur kinda stuck with it.

Another question....hypothetical of course...but how would microsoft know it was a fake account? What if I used a legitimate address like my sisters in the states....i mean theoretically it would just mean that i registered my xbox in the states but moved to malaysia? Note: this applies to only a legitimate address.

A question that is on everybody's mind. But so far its just rumours that there will be account deletion. it might not happen. They might jst regionlock the content based on IP.

As for your hypothetical question, there is no way they will know. If they are going for IP, they will just delete it regardless of the legitimate address I guess.

I am sure MS knows as well. But they can just tell the studios they already implemented safety measures. Then the studios cant complain..which is the whole point anyway...to keep the movie studios happy..

if MS really deletes our accounts here since the 360 is not officially launched, then there will be a lot of other accounts from other countries having the same fate as us. so if they do that there will be millions of people complaining to MS
