i got some contacts in microsoft malaysia.

I will make a few calls later today and will try to get contact of the person in charge if any, if not try to get a person who can help us to voice out our concerns.

Our concerns are very valid, in fact we are paying for the service (that includes the games and stuffs), we don't support jack sparrow games.

I'll keep u guys updated...

I sent an email to Microsoft last night voicing our concerns, I dont know if I will get a reply or not or if the reply is automatically generated but it's worth a shot.

Guys... it's not a banned, it's just a block on downloaded content. Chill, IF and WHEN there is a ban we'll all go storm MS office together wink.gif, but right now just stay calm first.

The fact that we're using Live is in pretty much a grey area right now (Remember, the TOS states that when you sign up you confirm that your registration details are valid?). Yes we paid for the service but ask any lawyer and I do believe that he'll tell you just because you paid for something it doesn't make it right.

Listen look at this Microsoft is going to shut this down?:

150(rounded off)xbox 360 gamers in Malaysia makes for 150 original and unmodded playing experience consoles cost RM1600 or so which multiplied by 150 will equals to=

RM 24000 which will equal to $64000 US (not much I know)

Assuming all of us have one year live subsciption.

1 year= RM150
150 Users= 150 *150= RM22500=$6050

Assuming all of us have at least 8 xbox360games 40*8=320*150=rm48000=$13000

Total so far=$64000+$6050+$13000=$83000

Microsoft made $83000 big ones in Malaysia in less than a year without a launch but that number seems so small compared to what pirates are making(i only assume that they are maing money) sigh i did this round up cause i had nothing better to do and yeah it was a slight pain to do .

Microsoft has said contents are being blocked and no accounts are being banned.

As for market size, Malaysia is probably like a dot in their eyes. 150+ gamers does not justify a launch here especially with full scale support.

Yeah when i calculated everything i double checked and me understand that Mircosoft had no choice but to not to launch here.

US$83000 is not that big and remember Microsoft is making losses on each 360 they sell (razor and blades business theory)

guys relax... they're just restricting the download content... they haven't gone all out to say they're banning yet... if they are really gonna ban us..would time be better spent gaming on your 360's until your eyes fell out than discussing the issue in the forum???

We also realize that there may be a small number of international users that were impacted by this change that have a legitimate reason for why their billing location does not match their account location.  We are working to deal with these exceptions on a case by case basis and are working on a solution for these consumers.

I wrote to Major Nelson and highlighted the issues we faced, namely no official launch and support here due to piracy rate and small user base, getting our stuff and accts from SG, etc.
