Want to know anyone here using the Amyway Espring water filter, the latest one?

My situation like this: When my friend introduce me the espring water filter, he claimed that the filter can be use around 1 year or 5000 liter, whichever come first. but I start using on April 21th, on end of September already notify me need to change filter ( there is a indicator with light on top) And my friend took the filter and check with amway center, they said already reach 5000 liter!!!

Here is the calculation of my house water usage for this water filter (roughly calculate ya)

morning - fill up with 3 adult water bottle, each around 1 liter = 4 liter (to round up so i put 4 liter)
afternoon - normally no one at house coz go work already = 0
evening till night time - sometimes cook simple dinner, estimate usage to maximum = 10 liter

round up to 15 liter x 31 days = 465 liter per month
April to Sep 6 months = 6 x 465 liter = 2325 liter ONLY !!!

So how can the filter claimed I'd reach 5000 liter, despite my calculation has been round up and maximize!!
1 time change the filter cost me RM 500++! so 1 year I have to spend RM1000 + to change the stupid filter...

Please share with me if you all have this kind of experience. Thanks.

u buy into their MLM scam and then cry about it?

get a panasonic filter hooked it up with a double ceramic normal filter which u can find in tescogot and also the conventional outside unit filter. get the job done just the same, maintenance very low. that UV thing is just a fad

BTW, AMWAY water filter is a scam. Ur friend already earn rm700 from the machine u bought. RM500 per filter, yeah, sounds like Amway.

better invest 1.2k for outdoor water filter tank. less worry and less maintenance while your house can enjoy filtered water from every single tap.

Ignore the warning light.

You can open the model on your own to check whether dirty or not.

Anyway, open then close will reset the timer/alarm

Lel. Amway salesman will tell you a lot of thing to make you feel unsecure like dirty air, polluted water etc to make you buy their air purifier or water filter. And then you need to pay few hundred for maintenance on a regular basis. So no surprise on your case.

Kbye.

then your filter should not be dirty that fast to change. or it's a scheduled changed by amway? if it's then u have to follow their program else u can get a cheap one where u can just change by urself when u see the filter is dirty

Espring dun work this way my dear.

Ur filter got a pre filter. U can wash it.
If ur water is badass dirty, do a routine wash on prefilter inside it. Easily take out one.

BUT this will not reset the timer. NOR open close will.
Unless its the previous model. Can set on the machine itself.

And do not attempt to off electricity to stop timer, it wont work either. And it will spoil the chip faster. Trust me, i am a certified sinkalan espring user.

yes.. only the filter
http://www.panasonic.com/my/consumer/kitch...er/tk-as40.html

therefore i would recommend to place another cheapo filter before it.. cause panasonic filter more expensive.
there's replacement indicator for u to know

however, the filtration might be less effective than more expensive model

The water goes thru sensor. Tats how they know how much litres used.

I cut open the filter in donut shape, put inside car to absorb smell.

I'm an unvoluntary user. (Not my purchase)

The filter element has a countdown timer. It also have a water volume measure. I can rant and rant how much this filter is a con case. I have simple question Amway will not be able to avoid.

If i buy new filter, use it for 1 day, then turn it off. Then 365 days later turn it on, and the filter requires to be replaced. So there is timer. It does not justify the UV lamp is not reliable, the bacteria already incubate or the filer deteriorated. In the end its just con case. When the filter is programmed to be replaced even before you hit 5000 litres it is already a con. Waiting to hack this stupid unit, so i will never ever need to pay RM500 for that cartiudge ever again. vmad.gif

Is there a substantiated scientific explanation for the fixed time to change? If scientific evidence proves otherwise, you can claim a discount from them and even make a complaint to the National Consumer Complaints Centre.

The 2nd gen can do this. Reset without replacing filter.
And too many people did not replace but just reset.
When the filter elements deteriorate, water quality is bad, they went to complain say unit faulty instead. Some even have their uv burnt, and dont know how they got their board fried.

Tats why now they use this new kind of filter.

I believe the system is hackable now, cos got people come and collect for "recycle" purposes.

Thanks.

My in-law's place using this. Installed in Nov 2014. Changed the filter in Feb 2015, and then in end April 2015, machine beeping to ask for replace cartridge. Called MLM agent who sold this to check. Agent suspect faulty unit Removed entire unit, took it to HQ in PJ and plug in computer. Agent came back with printed report indicating have used 5000L. Replaced filter and was charged RM550 (plus service charge). Assumed problem was with our excessive usage. Changed usage pattern to minimal (similar like your case. Morning and night cooking only).

Been using it until 2 weeks ago, beeped for replace cartridge again. Another RM550.. sigh... Suspect something wrong with the filter and it is not producing accurate usage of 5000L. Agent claiming it can last more than 1 year is also not true. I have used 3 filters this year ady!

Looking to replace this filter with a more economical option.

Currently at 50% light..but my household only 2 persons. Not sure if the usage is that much la...didn't really count it.
But the sales also told me to change filter in 1 year or max 1 and half year. And the price is quite expensive at RM500++..

I got do record.

The light is based on Usage or Time. Whichever comes first.

mine usage also not much. but zhun zhun 3 months drop 1 bar.

Zhun zhun 1 year red light and start beeping.

so I just use 1 yr and 3 months then change once filter la.

U will be surprised how many dirt it has filtered.

3k to secure my family kidneys. I think is a very good investment. Just my 2cents

not sure if i am bumping old thread.

the timer count as 5000hours or 5000liter whichever comes first.

some ppl turn it off after collecting enough water to save on the timer.

you might not running water thru , but uv is still on. so timer is counting as long as it is turn on.

i was having the same problem with ts

From 2015 to 2017 the filter price raised from 500 to 700 now. That's 100 increase in a year. Cibai punya Amway filter. More expensive to maintain like Volvo.

If filter element keep increasing every year, what's the point? You could buy a new filter unit from lots of brands yearly.not just element only.

Walau, freaking rich you guys. Spending so much for a basic water drinking.

BTW, remind me, I got to throw away the old Anway water filter. Long overdue job.
