No can do ITX and carry every day. Absolutely need 2 rigs.

Can someone confirm i3-4160 iGPU 520 is faster then GT 730 1GB DDR5?

I think what we will do for now is just get an i3 for very basic gaming. I saw youtube people i3-4160 iGPU playing games on HD720p and very low settings, frames are ok.
They will settle for his for now as they really don't want to spend much money at this point, they can always save up and get a 750ti later on. or better yet PSU + R9 270(if still available in future), currently 750ti and r9 270 same price.

------------------- its looks cheaper to buy pre made and less hassle
RM 1,259.00
ASUS K31AD-BING-MY001S I3-4160 2GB 500GB W8 PC

-Asus
-i3-4160
-2GB
-500GB
-Windows 8
-1 year warranty

http://www.lelong.com.my/asus-k31ad-bing-m...6-08-Sale-P.htm

-RM100 - i will add another 4gb RAM
*
HD520 is for Skylake mobile CPU, Haswell i3 4160 is using HD4400 which is weaker than GT730 (almost equal to the power of GT720).

Pre-built PC is overpriced with unknown mobo and PSU model (unless you are aiming to get the OS), that spec you posted can be built under 1k.

Hi guys, need to build a workstation/gaming rig with 2 different budget here

Budget : 4k and 2.5k ( include with monitor, keyboard sweat.gif )

Monitor resolution : 1080p preferably

Games & Softwares : AutoCad, Sketchup, Photoshop

Personal preferences : maybe need at least i5 processor

Location : Penang
*
So you want to build a rig, with 2 options? One is 4k and another one is 2.5k? Am I correct?

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1318
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 399
Kingston 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 392

yes you're correct, well, it seems that the 2.5k doesnt have gpu. Will it affect the usage of software as mentioned in my post before, and for the 4k, what is the differences in performance between GTX750TI and GTX960 ? sorry for noob question, kinda blurr here
*
2.5k option has iGPU which is HD 530 (almost equivalent to R7 250/GT 740), suitable for light and casual gaming.

Some rendering software will utilize the CUDA technology of Nvidia GPU if available as hardware acceleration, if you don't have any compatible GPU, the software will still work as intended, just the operation time might take longer to complete.

GTX960 is almost twice the performance of GTX750Ti, if you aren't playing graphical demanding games then GTX750Ti is enough (i.e. Dota 2/CSGO etc.).

hello guys, can give me suggestion for office pc with rm1500 or less budget.

with monitor.

for work purpose.word processing etc

tq
*
Intel Pentium G3250 - RM 226
ASRock H81M-VG4 - RM 202
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 168
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 400W - RM 145
Armaggeddon Hectotron T3X - RM 129
BenQ GW2270 - RM 429

Total: RM 1514 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Casing is too subjective, you can pick your own preference but not recommended to use the cap ayam PSU included in the casing (if any) even with light office workload.

If you are ok with 720p monitor then you can pick a cheaper 720p monitor and upgrade the CPU to i3, it is faster to load/process large word/excel file.

TQVM for the explanation, it seems that my friend is not a big fan of high graphic games for 4k budget and 2.5k budget can get a GPU later on.And another question, what if the budget is used for a pure workstation, what is the specification for both 4 and 2.5k budget  sweat.gif
*
It will still be the same build, if your workload doesn't require any GPU (CUDA/OpenCL etc.) then drop the dedicated GPU (GTX750Ti), the CPU (i7) is considered as top tier consumer grade CPU already, so no need to upgrade it (unless you want to go for overclocking setup), so in this case the total cost will be less than 3.5k, if you don't need SSD, it can be removed as well to save cost, while the rest of the parts are necessary as they are the basic requirements to run a PC.

Ops I was confused i3 gen4 and 6,
i3 skylake with HD530 is that similar to GT730/740 then?

Oh I though prebuilt was cheaper, I was aware of would be getting unknowed mobo, hdd, weak PSU. but the ori OS is kind of good.

Let me try to figure this out
Looking at your previous post recomendation and http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/easyit2u.htm
I have compile the following what you think?

------------- cheap basic iGPU gaming later upgrade GPU ----------

Intel Core i3 4170 - RM 476
Asrock Intel H81M-VG4 - RM 202
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 168
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
DVD ROM - RM 60
FSP Hexa+ 450W - RM 166
Armaggeddon Nanotron T1x - RM85 - cheapest on ETech.
Keyboard/Mouse Logitech MK200 - RM 63
Windows 8.1 pro OEM Ori Lowyat Garagage Sale (iampokemon) - RM 95
Labour for someone to build PC/install OS estimate - RM 80
Courier charges for all item estimate - RM50 - Taiping Perak

Total: RM 1660 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Changes I have done to your earlier recommendation are:
Changed the mobo to the cheapest one Asrock Intel H81M-VG4, no longer need micro mobo
I opted for the cheapest Case at RM85, spec still functions, is there much difference coz people normally recommend that RM125 Cooler Master case before?
Ori Windows is from  Lowyat Garagage Sale (iampokemon)
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3443547

optional skylake upgrade:
Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 485
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 289
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196
Pay extra RM 125 difference

Reason not upgrade skylake:
-Dont think there is much benefit in terms of gaming on iGPU intergrated.
-Better save and invest in an graphics card later?
-CPU upgrade path, in few years time 2nd hand prices of i5 gen4 should be cheaper/more available compared to i5 gen6

Reason to upgrade skylake:
-very marginal iGPU intergrated gaming incress coz of faster ddr4 ram.
-future proofing?  cheap mobos H81 vs H110M still has the same limits?

------------- Compaired to Prebuild -------------

RM 1,259.00
ASUS K31AD-BING-MY001S

-Asus
-i3-4160
-2GB
-500GB
-Windows 8
-1 year warranty
http://www.lelong.com.my/asus-k31ad-bing-m...6-08-Sale-P.htm

-RM92 - i will add another 4gb RAM
-RM31 - courier charges

Total: RM 1380

Save RM 280 compared to Custom Built.

Pro:
- Save RM280
- Hassle less,
- Easy Factory OS restore function in require reformatting.

Cons:
- 1 Year Warranty only (else 1-3 year parts)
- 6GB instead of 8GB
- 500GB HDD instead of 1TB
- i3-4170 vs i3-4160 Only 0.1GHZ slower
- mobo unknow
- PSU 250W unknown
- No factory reset function.
- OEM Win8 from lowyat may have issue

---------------------
It seems Custom is RM280 more expensive but I think its worth it, i get more longer warranty, more ram, larger hdd, large psu, easy replaceable mobo.
*
Build is ok, if you are satisfied with it, go for it.

Format OS is pretty easy nowadays, just create a recovery partition (if you prefer this way) or create a bootable OS stick and install from it (easier if you know how to do).

Yep, you can.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1318

Hi guys, i wanna know how much budget do i need to get a gaming pc with a Zotac GTX980 Ti AMP Extreme Edition with a decent gaming monitor with nvidia G-Sync capability? i know the card itself cost around 3k++ but i dont know much about other parts. So can recommend me the right parts for the card?
*
If you are going for the cheapest GSync monitor here, it should be Acer XB281HK 4k TN monitor, around 2.6k, if you want 1440p with IPS then prepare another RM 700 for Acer XB271HU.

So GPU and monitor alone will cost you up to 6k already, add up other parts (i7 + 16GB RAM), it should be close to 9k to 10k.

It depends on your setup, for the infamous non-oc i5 + GTX970 then it is enough, if R9 390 then better switch to a more decent PSU.

Need suggestion for gaming pc with 3k budget (hopefully to further upgrade in future)  with at least 20inch monitor, don't need other peripherals, and kinda wondering if it would be good to have a cooling system? Sorry kinda new to this things
*
If you can stretch your budget by another RM 300 then go for this, should be able to last you quite a while provided your requirement is not that high.

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 779
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) - RM 403
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196
Asus GTX960 4GB GDDR5 Turbo - RM 927
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 185
BenQ GW2270 - RM 429

Total: RM 3322 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

If unable to spare the extra RM 300 then either downgrade the i5 to i3 6100 (RM 485) or GPU to GTX950 (RM 699).

Cooling system? CPU comes with stock cooler and the case comes with 1 rear exhaust fan, add another 2 casing fans in front as intake to improve airflow, casing fan is not included in the list yet.

Kinda heard that the Asus gtx960 turbo overheats easily, is it true or is there a better alternative?
*
Overheat? Very rare case for non-reference card even though Turbo series sports a blower type cooler but with modification from Asus for better air ventilation.

Techview had a promotion on Gigabyte GTX960 4GB version last month at RM 950, not sure still got stock or not, you can try to ask them.

If you are planning to get any GTX960 with price tag of more than RM 950, then you better switch to R9 380 4GB version, performance is better than GTX960 at such price.

Sapphire R9 380 4GB version is around RM 980 at the moment.

Budget OC here
Any one experience with simple stock OverClocking?

Intel Pentium G3258 has a stock HSF - copper/aluminum heat sink 95W TDP the same as stock i5/i7/Xeon
Asrock H81M-VG4 (cheapest H81 mobo, that support G3258)

I just want to overclock using stock HSF and stock voltage maybe increase very slightly eg 1.2v. should be able to get 4 - 4.2 ghz in malaysia weather?

Asrock H81M-VG4 said support G3258, i assume it can able to change multiplier and voltage? not doing to do anything more complicated then that.
*
1.2v can hit 4.2 - 4.4GHz quite easily but you still need to pray the chip is good for overclocking sweat.gif

I haven't tested stock cooler yet, last time I tried Hyper 212X on 4.4GHz, temperature is around 60 - 65°C when running Prime95, I estimate stock cooler will be around 80°C +/-.

Thanks for tip
what voltage did you use to get 4.4? if its stock voltage then you just won the chip lottery.
did you use cheapo H81 mobo too?

i was going to get a Intel Pentium Processor G3460 at 3.5ghz with aluminum hsf
but then saw G3258 was only Rm11 more also better copper hsf, if i can get 3.8-4ghz on stock voltage and hsf, i am already happy

g3258 at 4ghz is very similar in i3 in normal office performance (mozilla, html5 etc...), so i think its very good bang for buck
*
It was a very long time ago, couldn't remember the exact settings, if I recall correctly it was done with ASRock H97M-ITX/ac mobo at around 1.2v for 4.3/4.4GHz, purely for testing purpose only.

If it is only for office work and no gaming, then G3258 is enough, if gaming then i3 with extra 2 threads will pull ahead.

QUOTE(GOO @ Feb 19 2016, 10:20 AM)
Hey guys. I am trying to build my first gaming rig.

Appreciate if you could help me look into the below:

1. MSI B150M Bazooka
2. i5 6500
3. Palit GTX 970 Jetstream
4. Cooler Master B600
5. Kingston PC4 2133 8GB
6. Kingston 240GB V300
7. WD 1TB 64MB (Blue) Sata3
8. Windows 10 Home
9. Optical drive <--- Do I need a Blu ray reader? or DVD is just enough?
10. Casing <--- Need suggestion. As cheap as possible, without any LED light.

My budget is S$ 1500. As per the above, the price I checked by pricelist of HWZ is approx S$1500, but a bit more. I would like to push the price to exact S$1500 or below.

I am also open to other suggestion if there is any changes for the list I listed above.

Thanks
GOO
*
S$1500 is around RM 4500 as of today's exchange rate, I am not living in SG so I will be using MY price as reference.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 844
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 - RM 399
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 200
Palit GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Jetstream - RM 1550
Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB SSD - RM 385
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Samsung DVD ROM - RM 62
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 409
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 180

Total: RM 4244 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Windows 10 Home OEM - RM 299

Total: RM 4543

Some suggestions on your current build:
1. Avoid Kingston V300 if possible due to this reason
2. Go for a more decent PSU, not saying B600 is bad, just the internal components aren't the top notch quality.
3. More and more people started to abandon DVD ROM now, so if you just want the DVD ROM for Windows OS installation, then I recommend you to use USB stick instead, much faster and save you some money.

That's 2GB vs 4GB, of course the 4GB one is better and will have advantage when the game uses more than 2GB VRAM.

Alright guys please help me with this one

Budget: rm 3200

Purpose : multimedia and gaming.

Games & softwares : dota 2

Preferences : i multi task a lot so i need pc that can cope with my alt+tab ing without lags or delays

* can help recommend monitor too? Thx (3,200 budget not include monitor)

* currently switching from laptop to pc

* can u pls remark what is the item u are listing out like
Intel i5 (processor) - rm xxx

Location : selangor , kl

Tbh i dont know anything about monitor. Hopefully around rm 500 - 600? But do suggest any monitor that is bang for bucks.

And yeah 1 more thing to add, i prefer window 8.1 so please recommend those with window 8. Thx
*
If you are using exclusive fullscreen mode in games, then alt + tab surely will delay, if you want almost instant alt + tab, use fullscreen windowed mode, but performance will likely to be affected but not much.

Dota 2 is not hardware demanding so I will only include a GPU that can max it out at 60 FPS (save cost), if you intend to run other triple A titles, then upgrade to at least GTX960/R9 380 for better gaming experience (higher FPS).

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 779
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) - RM 403
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196
Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 ZT-70605-10M - RM 509
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 185
BenQ GW2270 - RM 429

Total: RM 2904 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Windows 8.1 Home OEM - RM 299

So does it increase the price if i change to ssd. And they say ssd is faster and quieter, right? Please bear with me , im total noob at these stuff haha.
*
Normally we only use SSD for OS and store some frequently used software for shorter access time, this is also suitable for low budget user.

If you want to replace your entire HDD with SSD (even for file storage), then you gonna need to prepare a lot of money, 1TB SSD will cost you at least 1k+.

For your case, I suggest you to add a 120GB SSD for your OS and Dota 2 game files, while keeping the 1TB HDD for file storage (video, music etc.)

Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 229
