Maybe because they want to suggest the specs that falls in between the price range I have given. Not maxed the price range. Maybe. Hehe. They are same actually, I used "reference" because the card is a reference card with reference design by nvidia and reference PCB (the board with all the memory and capacitors etc.) too. Because "reference" card is using single blower fan, so they can call it as "single fan" version as well. May I know what's the difference between the GPU you recommended and also the GPU they recommended. I don't understand what it means by reference in the GPU name. Non-reference card means the design, cooler and sometimes the PCB are all custom made by the manufacturers, the most obvious one is the card design and cooler, you can add RM 100 to get the Palit non reference card which they call it "Jetstream" (card series name, different brand has different card series name) which runs slightly cooler than reference card and having higher potential in overclocking (if you want to overclock). |

USB one is cheaper but reliability is lower than PCI-E one.If your router/modem is close to you, then difference between LAN cable and WiFi is very small, just minor latency difference, if signal is weak (meaning you are far from the router/modem), then you gonna suffer with packet lost. May I know your current motherboard brand so I can give recommendation based on the slot and size available? |

May I ask what's the point of overclocking the GPU? And one more thing, Idealtech won't provide me any OS unless I request for it at which eventually it will increase my budget, am I right? Overclock GPU to gain more frame rate and performance.Idealtech will install the trial version of Windows to test the rig, but you need to buy the key yourself to get it activated. Increase budget if possible, i3 isn't really enough for Adobe software. |

CORE RM1599, or Sapphire R9390X RM1799 that shud be more than enuff, u dun nid GTX980 that much if oni gaming on 1080p if u do sell GTX760 n get GTX970, that build gonna cost RM2800-500+1599=3899 This post has been edited by mod_po: Oct 29 2015, 04:50 AM |

Hi, Guys.. Pure for gaming (very little on work, mostly excel).. I am looking at the spec below and trying to do with min budget as i can ... plan to get it end of the year..
i3 4160 Ram 8GB GPU - R9 380 or GTX 640 (Any recommendation ? if I would like to keep my PSU and is it advisable ?) **Aim to play latest game with high setting at 1080... and target to upgrade the CPU before 1150 phase out end of 2016 .. if with this senario, should I go with G3258? My current rig:- Intel E6750 Asus P5G41c-M LX Kingston DDR3 4GB WD 1TB Black Palit GT 630 Enermax Tomahawk 500 |

I am looking at the spec below and trying to do with min budget as i can ... plan to get it end of the year.. Don't downgrade the i3 to G3258, i3 isn't really sufficient for latest game with high settings nowadays, downgrading to a dual core (w/o HT) G3258 will take you even further away from your personal requirements.i3 4160 Ram 8GB GPU - R9 380 or GTX 640 (Any recommendation ? if I would like to keep my PSU and is it advisable ?) **Aim to play latest game with high setting at 1080... and target to upgrade the CPU before 1150 phase out end of 2016 .. if with this senario, should I go with G3258? My current rig:- Intel E6750 Asus P5G41c-M LX Kingston DDR3 4GB WD 1TB Black Palit GT 630 Enermax Tomahawk 500 There isn't a GTX640 so I think it is a typo and you are comparing R9 380 to GTX960, perhaps? R9 380 is recommended to run on a better PSU as it draws more power than standard GTX960, if you are going to change PSU to a more decent one, then R9 380 with more VRAM will be a much better choice and future proof. |
