Asus H81M-K - RM 229
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - RM 220

Total: RM 935 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

If cannot then try this,

Intel Pentium G3250 - RM 228
Asus H81M-K - RM 229
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - RM 220
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 225
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139

Going for Haswell (4th gen) build instead of Skylake (6th gen) due to budget issue.

Intel Core i3 4170 - RM 486
ASRock H81M-K - RM 229
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - RM 220
Leadtek GTX750 2GB GDDR5 OC - RM 485
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 225
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139
BenQ GW2255 - RM 380

Total: RM 2353 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

You left around RM 150 for OS, genuine retail/OEM license key is very expensive in retail shop (mostly start from RM 200 for a Windows 7 OEM key, up to RM 1099 for Windows 10 Pro Retail key) so you might need to look for cheaper genuine key in Garage Sales, but beware of counterfeit license key.

You only need the CUDA cores for hardware acceleration in Premiere Pro, GT730 has 384 CUDA cores which is equivalent to what GT740 has at slightly cheaper price tag.

And due to your budget issue, I can only fit a low end GPU, unless you change the SSD to 128GB or RAM to 8GB to cover up the cost for GTX750/750Ti.

And low end nvidia desktop GPU starts with GT, mainly for x20, x30 and x40 series, GTX is for x50 and above, same goes to laptop section.

If stay at Haswell i5, you need ~RM 300 more.

If going for Skylake i5, then you need to save ~RM 650 more for new Skylake mobo + DDR4 RAM.

Edit: There is a mistake in the post, it is Asus H81M-K, not ASRock H81M-K doh.gif

Fallout 4 is not released yet so we don't know if it is a well optimized PC games or not, hopefully yes.

If the game is fully optimized for PC and the stated requirements are for 1080p 60 FPS then you will need at least RM 4k for just the rig (not include monitor and other peripherals).

According to their price list here, no more GTX960 for just RM 739. The cheapest starts with Zotac Single Fan version, RM 815 which is still quite affordable.

Hi Terence, just gonna piggyback on this comment. What's the difference between the Zotac Single fan version and the normal GTX 960?

I would obviously assume that it only has one fan, but does that have a huge impact performance-wise? And with its lower price tag, will it provide more bang for the buck, or would it be better to just spend a little more and get the normal GTX 960?

Thanks.

It is still a GTX960 with 2GB VRAM and Maxwell chip, only the cooling is different. Single fan version might run hotter than dual or triple fan setup. I think other brands are hitting 1k mark already so it is definitely not worth to get other brands because R9 380 with 4GB VRAM is slightly faster than it at cheaper cost.

GTA V highest settings will require at least a GTX980Ti (basic & advance settings all maxed out at 1080p 60Hz). I tested with GTX970, basic settings can be turned on to max (including population/traffic density etc. provided your processor is not bottlenecking with i5 mininum), but once advance settings are turned on, FPS drop occurs everywhere.

Your budget cannot fit a GTX970 so highest setting is not possible for now, and you requested SSD to be included which is even harder to build a decent gaming rig that can handle games smoothly.

Intel Core i3 4170 - RM 486
Asus H81M-K - RM 229
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM - RM 220
Gainward GTX960 2GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 799
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 229
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 225
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 189
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 139

Total: RM 2516 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

The degradation of MYR has caused hardware price to increase for the past few months, it is possible to get a i5 + GTX960 under RM 2500 last time FYI. If you wish to run future games at smoother frame rate, I suggest you to save RM 1000 more for i5 + GTX970/R9 390.
