My friend's laptop had just broken last week, now he planned to get a rig setup which is around rm600-700. However, he also planned to upgrade the rig soon. For now, he just only need a cpu with a good intergrated gpu. Just recommend me any good cpu with a good intergrated gpu with cheapest motherboard, RAM and PSU. The budget is only for these 3 item, he already had chasis, hdd and dvd writer also monitor.

P/s : does the AMD A4-5300 enough? Can it runs 24/7 dota 2? He played dota 2 not dota 1.

If your friend is getting an upgrade part-by-part path, I'll suggest to go for Intel platform, AMD socket is dead for current generation CPU, if you are getting LGA1150 socket, you still can upgrade to Haswell i3/i5/i7 later.

For max budget of RM 700, it is very hard to get those mentioned items to run Dota 2 at decent frame rate.

Intel Pentium G3250 - RM 229
ASRock H81M-VG4 - RM 209
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 189
FSP Hexa+ 400W - RM 129

Total: RM 756 (Viewnet price inclusive of GST)

PSU might need to change next time when you upgrade the specs, unless you go for low power/low end GPU.

According to their price list here, no more GTX960 for just RM 739. The cheapest starts with Zotac Single Fan version, RM 815 which is still quite affordable.

Should be no issue to maintain at least 60 FPS, no guarantee on 100 FPS min though.

I have a old setup with i7 2600 + GTX970, the FPS drops to nearly 45 during intense teamfight on Reborn client, this was tested few months ago, maybe new patch fixed it but I haven't tried yet laugh.gif

But, AMD has better intergrated gpu which is suitable for dota 2 and intel doesnt. He wants a smooth gaming for dota 2 while collecting money to get gpu soon, but not so soon. Maybe he will use this build like 4-6 months

Hi all, hoping to treat myself for a new rig to replace my almost 10 year-old rig.
Consider me a noob coz I really don't know much about PC anymore.
I could say I was an avid RPG gamer, and I'm hoping to get into the 'mood' again, but I'm not sure if I still have the patience.

Thanks in advance!

[Budget] RM 4k-5k

[Purpose]
Gaming, entertainment, heavy browsing

[Hardwares that will be re-use] None

[Monitor resolution]
Erm.. no idea but anything best for my budget

[Games & softwares that use frequently]
Games (which I don't know yet), web browser, excel and... media player classic?

[Personal preferences]
Nice, big monitor, wireless keyboard & mouse.
Please include a recommendation for a good sound system - but nothing too crazy, 2.1 would be ok I guess.
I don't mind paying more for better quality hardwares - longer lasting and reliable - as long as the price is reasonable.

I think for reborn client should wait until it is out of beta right? so then the benchmark should be announced d? I thought GTX 960 can give 80++ FPS minimum when intense teamfight. rclxub.gif

A4 5300 has HD7480D as iGPU which is almost equivalent to a HD5570 and Intel HD Graphics 530, so it is just slightly better than the iGPU in G3250 but decision is yours, you will need to change both CPU and mobo when you upgrade the rig later if you decide to switch back to mainstream Intel platform.

Reborn is out of beta last month and is now the main client of Dota 2 so I think it should be fairly stable by now in terms of performance (not include gameplay bug).

You only need 60 FPS if you own a 60Hz monitor, so no point to aim for 80 or even 100+ FPS actually sweat.gif

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1349
Gigabyte H170 Gaming 3 - RM 589
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 279
GALAX GTX970 4GB GDDR5 EXOC Black - RM 1489
Samsung 650 Series 120GB SSD - RM 209
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
Seasonic S12II 620W - RM 299
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 159

Total: RM 4592 (Viewnet price inclusive of GST)

As for speaker and monitor, there are plenty of choices, you can try to visit Viewnet (Lowyat Plaza branch) and they have demo unit in the shelf so you can test it yourself, same goes to monitor.

My personal recommendation is,

Edifier M1360 2.1 Speaker - RM 105
Dell U2414H IPS - RM 1049
Acer XB240H 144Hz - RM 1149

The total cost is way over budget I know nod.gif , you can downgrade the CPU to i5 6500 to save RM 500 for monitor/speaker part, if you can accept the over budget then it's fine laugh.gif

If you want nice IPS display + thin bezel, you will fall in love with U2414H. If you are more on FPS, the acer monitor comes with 144Hz and you will have a much different gaming experience than normal 60Hz monitor, test it yourself there to know the difference thumbup.gif

FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 199
Bitfenix NOVA - RM 149
Dell S2415H IPS * - RM 849

* Please note that S2415H is glossy screen type, you can see your reflection on screen if you are under bright light source, switch to something like Dell U2414H (RM 1065) for matte screen type, or just go with lower end 24 inch monitor like BenQ GL2460 (RM 539) but it is using TN panel. You can google for IPS vs TN for more info.

You can add another 1TB HDD (RM 219) if you think your old 500GB is not sufficient.

No need, 2.5" and 3.5" both are using same SATA so it is totally fine.
