if you r lack of budget, i can recommed you get Street-Jam OTA-R31. it cost around RM950 for chassis (including a Bodyshell) though u might need to fork out little bit more to get 1-way spool. total might cost you about RM1k+-

Fijon kits are quite fragile to be frank, i have heard of alot of Fijon chassis drifters complaints about steering crank crach, UJ (universal Joint) break...overall that kit is not really that good.

that new spice chassis if im not mistaken is brand MST (taiwan made), its the manufacturer of Spice chassis, price range would be RM1200-1300, i haven't see anyone use that chassis so not sure how it perform...

anyway, besides of chassis quality, you need to look at the spare parts department, whether it is easy to get spare parts, whether the spare parts are cheap n affordable or not, spare parts availability....alot of factors included.

Yeah.. that is the thing.. i read a lot of people complaint about fijon chassis being fragile and stuff.. and ending up spending more to have to change parts and stuff.. yup.. the spice chassis i think is taiwan made.. hobby haven selling around RM800 for the chassis. and RM1400 for the chassis plus fijon carbon body, one way and cs setup.. i was thinking i might as well get TA05 VDF the gold edition ( if i could find any shop who stock up this chassis tongue.gif ) you are also right about the spare parts option.. i would rather get kits which have parts easily available. anyway for now i already have my TT01D kit to play with.. just tempted to get another chassis.. hehe.. Cant wait to get my hand on the Sanwa MT-4 remote.. oh and by the way.. what do u guys think of the Active hobby 1.44 CS kit for TT01D.? drift culture got it in stock..

u guys not entering the yokomo drift comp in tropicana city mall next week.?

@crash

i think you can get full hopup chassis@RM1299 for the MST chassis.

if im not mistaken VDF cost about RM1300? well, if you have about that amount of budget i would recommend you not to upgrade your TT01D, it's just not worth the money. might as well save up abit and get StreetJam OTA-R31 (1k+- full set), or StreetJam OTA-R3R (RM1.9k-2k)

VDF is sort of erm.....two years old chassis? why fork out more for old design chassis?

i would not recommend you to upgrade your TT01D, coz in the end you will end up pay more to get another chassis. play with the current chassis and save up until you have better budget.

nope, i can't join the yokomo comp...really feel very upset coz it clashes with my some other important events...but most of my friends are joining...

I'll recommend Vantex T2 (design copied Xray T2) and Vantex 416/HL518 (both are same cars. design copied tamiya 416). T2 and 416/518 are both great cars. very popular now as they are cheap and parts widely available. You can get those cars as RTR set from lelong.com.my for about rm350+-. But dont forget, you need a front-one-way to ease your drifting. and also, a locked rear diff for more drift angle. ohh and also a high capacity battery to play longer! as for beginner, CS setup is too hard... even for myself blush.gif

@ torobo,

its a real rust actually. so quite dirty if you touch it shakehead.gif first spray a coat of silver to replicate bare metal color if you want. but for me, i used black cos i dont have ready paint for silver sweat.gif let it dry. after that spray a layer of clear coat and pour metal powder on it. let the clear coat dry then wet it and leave overnight. tadaaa rusty hood icon_rolleyes.gif
*you can also use normal glue (what school student always use) but its easier to come off.
*get your metal powder from workshops. the more halus the better. mine very rough if view upclose.
*cellotape the place where you dont want it to rust. its hard to remove the rust stain afterwards if you miss this step.

yeap, it was a gp car. modded to ep because i dont have the $$ for new car sweat.gif

1) take engine, pipe, fuel tank and other unnecessary stuff out of the chassis (brakes, throttle servo mount and blablabla)
2) take your 1st and 2nd gear out, leaving the housing without gear.
3) look for suitable spur gear. drill it if u need to make it fit and screw down to the 2nd gear housing.
4) for my model, i just have to adjust my clutch for it to fulltime makan the gear housing. think of other way if urs is different.
4) find one place where you can screw down your custom motor mount.
5) using a piece of metal, design your motor mount. cut and drill to make it fit and hold down your motor.
6) find suitable place for your electronics. battery mount also have to be custom made.
7) put everything together and pray for goodluck on your first run smile.gif

the picture below still with the old gear design. i'm using the design stated above. no picture yet.

You can try Tamiya underground at 1 utama shopping center in Damansara..i saw a few sets there

Added on November 8, 2011, 12:03 amhi guys,,, kinda new to this thread....i got myself a lamborghini gallardo 1/10 scale clear body the other day and it's way over out of my league. i thought that there would only be 4 to six light slots in the brackets...but there are a total of 18 light slots and i would like to fill them all.....do you guys know where to get a 18 to 20 led light system? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

and another question for cutting off the excess body....do you guys use other tools besides a hobby knife?
