that's not even including the servo unit yet tongue.gif 1400's can only go for 8 minutes max on my car haha! I have a 4200 and 3800, but funny the 3800 lasts longer... not to mention the 4200 is a matched cell pack, as in each cell's voltage is matched. I'm going to invest in a good 5ampere charger soon so that can get more kick out of my batts biggrin.gif

my current one also is 2.5 and it cant give me serious juice, so thats also why i wanna get a better one

QUOTE(ravira3 @ Jan 18 2007, 10:21 PM)
just bought and sawed off some pvc pipes. the one i got is bigger than the wheels so just gonna glue the wrecked tyres inside em as buffer. i hope it works unsure.gif

eric, might i suggest getting a second hand set first? everything'll be bundled together and much cheaper. once you get the feel of things, u can get additional stuff for upgrading the car.
*
wow, you actually went through sawing it yourself, salute you rclxms.gif

seconded, Eric, you dont need a better charger either for starter's kit, I just want a better charger because I want more kick from it. besides, above 3amp charger will shorten the battery life drastically. FYI I'm selling my Ansmann 2.5amp charger, going for RM70 smile.gif

doh.gif sorry, I just got my pay yesterday so that's when all the spending ideas come into mind tongue.gif

there are production drift tyres from Tamiya, and Yokomo for the matter and I believe they are the only ones with them but Tamiya's drift tyres aren't very drift friendly unless on even tiles. IIANM these are the only production drift tires available in the market today

TAMIYA TYPE-D - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLVZ0&P=M

YOKOMO SINGLE RING - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLTV0&P=M

YOKOMO DOUBLE RING & TYPE-D - http://www.yokomousa.com/tires/drift_tires.htm

Well, the Tamiya's are just hard and soft on each side, the Yoke single ring is basically 70% plastic ring in the middle and 15% rubber on each end. Double ring is same as single ring only with smaller rings, and type-D is same as Tamiya's type-D but better engineered.

wah, thats a very tight budget... RM700 would probably mean that everything is second hand, even battery and bodyshell.. I will ask around for you tomorrow

nvm, for now I'll keep asking first, most of the carkits on sale are atleast RM500 with electronics already.

alpha, just richen your engine, no other tuning needed. couple with abs and careful driving should be just nice smile.gif

eric, you can change it to the rubber sponge tyres to play normally (touring), and your budget seems ngam ngam for everything brand new, so whatcha waiting for? thumbup.gif

dandan2, your car can drift, but there some things you need to do to the engine first, read up on sites for tips. we use ABS or PVC for tyres btw

sorry ah, very busy le these days, just started working and all tongue.gif tell you what, you can call Tamiya Underground at 0377290553 and ask them if they've got the stuffs available. yep, that should definetly be enough wink.gif

good to see nitro drifters surfacing, the scene now too many EP drifters and I'm guessing only 30% have played nitro before..

Added on February 2, 2007, 10:33 pmwent to ioi mall toycity just now...they're selling tt01 with controller and all...rm799...if i buy this then wat i need to change to drift...tyre, suspension summore?..if change all will it be more expansive then tt01d?

Added on February 3, 2007, 8:40 pmwent to times square toycity just now..that fella said NO SUCH MODEL -.=(tm)..for the tt-01d..so i just walk away...
*
doh.gif told you dont go toycity mar, the one you saw in IOI is the XB. need bearings, suspension and a better motor, and yes it will in the end be more expensive than the TT01D

QUOTE(Lemon @ Feb 5 2007, 01:37 AM)
Sorry, I'm noob, but may I ask why? because of maintenance? notworthy.gif
*
I'm no genius but my thinking is you'll need the running air to cool the engine and in drifting you won't get that much air since it's going slow or sideways (you could cut a hole on each side of the shell I suppose)
