I'm sticking to my Nexus 6 as well. Still quite future proof. Agree that the price does not justify it, but only because of MYR weakening. If it's 3.1x MYR to USD everyone would be jumping to switch.  tongue.gif
*
If still 3.3 MYR to USD, I no-brainer upgrade to 6P. Now, stay with N6 and wait 6P price drop cool.gif

For me its the battery life, when I see the new Moto X is only 3000mah with 5.7" QHD, I was skeptical. I am very paranoid after experiencing with a bad battery life experience on my current Moto X 2014.  sweat.gif
*
Reason I was still holding from 6P is, the SOT wasnt so much improve from N6 sweat.gif

True. If one wants to tinker with flashing, why not just get a cheaper android phone than a Nexus?

Seem silly to buy a Nexus just to flash it, when you can very well do with other phones.
*
It's the AOSP source code that make Nexus special for flash.

If it sounded harsh then I apologize. I still disagree with the assessment of 80% are representing actual numbers.
*
79% 80% 81% who care, our experience owning Nexus for many generation tell my gut most people bought Nexus due to it's ease of flashing.

QUOTE(Diademz @ Oct 26 2015, 09:54 PM)
I absolutely agree - the main reason why I bought the N6 is because it's cheap now, and it's a Nexus so regular official/custom ROM updates that *do not* affect the camera quality, unlike other non-Nexus phones.

I also have friends who would not bother flashing the phones and leave it as stock - with ads and stuff (yuck! tongue.gif ).

To each his own la...and with a Nexus it's easy to ensure you would still get the latest Android versions even if Google is not officially supporting it anymore, plus the batteries are can be changed via DIY to prolong the life of the phone (not sure about 5x/6p...)
*
It is a trend that more and more flashaholic able to stick to stock rom ( albeit still flash custom kernel ). Google's stock rom are increasingly powerful and useful now, they just need to improve further on kernel ( be aggressive, Google ! ) biggrin.gif

except me  tongue.gif  still flashing flashing flashing, I want more  brows.gif  brows.gif  brows.gif  (I know, stock already good enough icon_idea.gif )
*
Hahaha, for me stock are good enough now, because even Google allow some sort of customization ( tile arrangement, battery percentage ) and TBH the stock animation still looks best.
I just need app backup/restore that works well, moooooooooore SOT, double tap to wake, swipe to sleep. drool.gif Then I'll 99.99% on stock rolleyes.gif

Adrenalin rush = flashing including at times b@lls of steel required
*
For old timer, flashing HTC those, need balls of steel. Ah how I remember when I bought a new HTC Magic and it's unhackable, I had to sell it and bought another used Magic that's hackable rclxub.gif
Nowadays flashing Nexus is like eating pizza cool2.gif Lazy person can even flash via AIO tools with few clicks and done whistling.gif

my flashing time start from HTC Desire, device are good frequently to flash but my microSD masuk RMA  doh.gif
*
Actually if ringgit same as last time, no brainer for me, as I paid much higher price for N6 ( although wallet cry ). Now 6P sold with lower price tag ( USD ) but in ringgit it's higher than N6 ? rclxub.gif

Use gold card method hack ?

Later price at the same price of Mate S. RRP 2698 for 32GB. Die already

If 32GB at that price, a bit expensive but actually ok. Early N6 32GB adopter paid 2.6K for it cry.gif

Hopefully its about 2.7k for 64GB?

64GB at that price, most likely nevar cry.gif Thx to weak ringgit doh.gif

QUOTE(kumarzone @ Oct 28 2015, 08:59 AM)
My opinion, the 6p will be priced slightly lesser than RM2700 of Note 5 (32GB). Lets hope so
*
Hope is something luxury in bolehland, unless you're some rich politicians whistling.gif

QUOTE(zhou86 @ Oct 28 2015, 11:17 AM)
I estimate 64GB will be about RM2700-2800.
*
I estimate it to be really close to 3K, seeing pricing for other countries.

QUOTE(MPIK @ Oct 28 2015, 08:57 PM)
Will this skin come off or peel off after sometimes? Or become yellowish?

I got sweaty palms, is it recommended for me to apply dbrand?
*
Nope, if you buy from quality brand, I have sweaty palms. I tried once a cheap ass skin from ebay, it imprinted jean's blue color after 2 weeks. dbrand and slickwraps never happen, superb quality.
Note that front skin might not stick on place too well, due to front glass too slippery. After 3 front skin failed on both N5 and N6, I dont order front and side anymore.

So usually just paste skin on the back? Then front put tempered glass? But for Nexus 6P you think need screen protector since its GG4?

Haha I work at factory so I worry might damage the phone. But so far I take really good care of my phones, no problems at all, and all protected with SP and case since Day 1.

But I really like the naked feel, just afraid to take the risk.  tongue.gif
*
I guess SP + skin is best solution if want naked feel but need protection ?

I thought of this too, but worry about the frame.  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
biggrin.gif From my experience ( dropped twice to solid concrete from 3 feet height ), there's not even dent or scratch.
I do have a ringke Slim case for backup purposes ( never had chance to use yet sweat.gif ), good thing about this case ? You can apply skin on it and works fine, almost all other case wont allow N6 skin. It fit so well, it's pain-in-the-S to take off cool.gif

EDIT: Only got one type of Rearth case for 6P now sweat.gif

Grab from web, didnt have photo of my case with skin. Will take photos of it when go home biggrin.gif

QUOTE(zhou86 @ Oct 29 2015, 11:10 AM)
Hmm, so I guess for the 6P, using skin + transparent case is out of the question. I think I'll just settle for the Spigen case for 6P then...not sure whether anyone will bring in or not.
*
Spigen wub.gif The armored case for 6P looks slim rclxms.gif But still, I'm complete supporter for naked rolleyes.gif

Quick question.

If you use a skin, will you be left with a sticky or gunky phone if you decide to peal the skin off?
*
Yes if you buy no-brand one ( or lousy brand ? ).
dbrand and slickwraps are top brand I know.

QUOTE(zhou86 @ Oct 29 2015, 11:37 AM)
Dbrand claims their skins will not leave any residue after peeling.
*
So far I can testify dbrand and slickwraps are solid quality, difficult to peel off but no residue leftover thumbup.gif

Well soya cincau posted that the device will be here by December, well in time before Christmas.  I didnt proceed with an overseas set, prefer to wait out for a local set this time around

And the nexus 6 after marshmallow update felt snappier and got a better battery life. Quite honestly, no reason to change (except maybe for a better camera?) but being an android whore, just go with the annual ritual
*
Much better camera, narrower size and possibly better battery life ( albeit slight only ).

QUOTE(Chisinlouz @ Oct 29 2015, 04:17 PM)
Is this approved by Sirim? Being gov agent they take their time to process, hopefully can get the phone soon  smile.gif
*
Approved doesnt meant it will be selling. Not first time that device passed SIRIM but never available. Can only cross finger and hope biggrin.gif

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Oct 29 2015, 05:03 PM)
Depending on price, if slightly above RM2k I still swallow. If its close to RM3k, I might downgrade and go for Huawei Honor 5X.
*
Slightly over 2K ? If ringgit suddenly drop back to old time rclxub.gif or else not possible.
