It is quite sad that Windows Mobile OS did not take off, as what analyst predicted in early days. It is sad. I am a big fans of Windows Mobile OS. My first Smartphone OS is Windows. I fell for it initially is primarily due to its OS Design. I still do right now.
However, after 3 Windows OS Phone from HTC Windows Phone 7, Nokia Lumia 620 then Lumia 1020. I jumped ship to Redmi 3S. Late last year but still using a Lumia 640XL Windows 10 Mobile on the side.
I kinda want to replace my Lumia 640XL with 950XL because my experience with 640XL really lagged. Do you guys find so? How's is the experience of 950XL on Windows 10 Mobile?
But should I burnt so much money on a dying hardware?
I honestly do not think Windows 10 Mobile is dying anytime soon. It is still the best Mobile OS, though with (sadly) very limited Apps.
I agree with you that it's not dying. MS will keep funding money for WP. It's just NOW is not their priority. They are pushing Windows 10 and WP will piggyback on it. I'm using 950XL as my main and keep a cheap RM300 Wiko on the side. Even then, I can't find the need to use the android that much, except for some seldomly used banking & telco apps. Probably I'm too invested in the MS ecosystem.
As for the 950XL itself, my experience seems to be just fine. I went from Lumia 800 (1st smartphone) to 930 to the current 950XL. I was stuck with high-end phone from the beginning that makes me reluctant to try a lower specs one. Some sweet features that I regularly use are wireless charging, dual sim, Windows Hello (when it works), double tap to wake, glance screen, and the sweet2 usb type-c, paired with the Display Dock, it's a killer. I do meetings and presentations for software development at the office just using the phone + mouse + keyboard + teamviewer to my pc, and it blows everyone's mind. XD
As others already mentioned, if you can get it at RM1350, that's quite a bargain.
