But should I burnt so much money on a dying hardware?
I honestly do not think Windows 10 Mobile is dying anytime soon. It is still the best Mobile OS, though with (sadly) very limited Apps.

950xl hardware is still future proof (sd820 processor, 3gb ram),
what they need to fix is the os ecosystem..

I see. I understand what you mean, @mf_Yamato.
I could say Windows 10 Mobile OS is the most active OS in the market right now, in terms of OS Developer keep fixing and pushing features. Not exactly active in terms of Users tongue.gif. Hence I couldn't agree that Microsoft isn't fixing the OS but I could agree that Microsoft has a whole lot of jobs to do to beef up the OS to attract 3rd Party Developers, maintaining those relationship and Apps so maybe (maybe) users will be convinced. Yeah, maybe.

Anyway, it doesn't matter to me. What matter to me the most is Windows commitment to its Windows Mobile. That's enough for me. I prefer Windows 10 Mobile UI & Lifestyle. I'm not exactly an App person but I agreed that Apps could simplify some daily tasks especially during on the go. I am neither a hardcore a Phone person too. If I am on my desk, I prefer to use Laptop.

But it is just me.
All these isn't making my life easier - should I replace my Lumia 640XL with 950XL? Anyone here has experience or own these two Phones?

That's subjective. To me, RM1350 for a top of the line Win phone is a bargain.

I would've been forced to jump ship to Android if it weren't to that hot sale price.

It is quite sad that Windows Mobile OS did not take off, as what analyst predicted in early days. It is sad. I am a big fans of Windows Mobile OS. My first Smartphone OS is Windows. I fell for it initially is primarily due to its OS Design. I still do right now.

However, after 3 Windows OS Phone from HTC Windows Phone 7, Nokia Lumia 620 then Lumia 1020. I jumped ship to Redmi 3S. Late last year but still using a Lumia 640XL Windows 10 Mobile on the side.

I kinda want to replace my Lumia 640XL with 950XL because my experience with 640XL really lagged. Do you guys find so? How's is the experience of 950XL on Windows 10 Mobile?

But should I burnt so much money on a dying hardware?

I agree with you that it's not dying. MS will keep funding money for WP. It's just NOW is not their priority. They are pushing Windows 10 and WP will piggyback on it. I'm using 950XL as my main and keep a cheap RM300 Wiko on the side. Even then, I can't find the need to use the android that much, except for some seldomly used banking & telco apps. Probably I'm too invested in the MS ecosystem.

As for the 950XL itself, my experience seems to be just fine. I went from Lumia 800 (1st smartphone) to 930 to the current 950XL. I was stuck with high-end phone from the beginning that makes me reluctant to try a lower specs one. Some sweet features that I regularly use are wireless charging, dual sim, Windows Hello (when it works), double tap to wake, glance screen, and the sweet2 usb type-c, paired with the Display Dock, it's a killer. I do meetings and presentations for software development at the office just using the phone + mouse + keyboard + teamviewer to my pc, and it blows everyone's mind. XD

As others already mentioned, if you can get it at RM1350, that's quite a bargain.

Damn, catching others WOW at your presentation's setup is priceless! Haha.

Yeah, I will get it. But the price just go up, almost 1.5K now! Sigh~ Apala ranting.gif bangwall.gif
However, with Maxis One Club can get 15% additional discount. Too bad, I am not Maxis user

I think that's because the screen is a bit curvy at the edge. Anyway why would u want tempered glass anyway. I've been using lumias for years and never had a single scratch anyway. hmm.gif

The 950XL 4 corners are curved. Using cheap tempered glass will result the 4 corners to bubble up. I am using the Nilkin's one, higher price but fit perfectly because the tempered glass also designed with curves at the corner. Roughly remember is in the range of 40-50 but to me it is well worth the price, the quality difference is huge.

Edit : I bought mine from Taobao Nilkin shop.

are you placing it in a pouch or a case?

At times, the edges are pinched hence the tempered glass lifts from its original position. Placing it on a car holder has the same effects by the side, where the holder grips

Hey everyone,

Finally. I decided.
I got my Lumia 950 XL from Lazada. It has been about 2 week. Not yet my Main Phone, because I would like to do a gradual transition.

The only thing that I find troublesome is the keyboard. I find the auto correction somewhat lagged, compare to WP 8.1.

I am thinking to go for Nillkin Back Cover which I find the Nillkin quite reliable. All my Lumia 620, 1020, 925 uses only Nillkin case. Good quality, simple design at affordable price. I am also eyeing the Mozo but it is gila expensive le!

What you guys think?

Also, I want to get Display Port but I find the price isn't that appealing.
