Just bought a used blue 1.6t year '12 with almost 90k mileage. rm35k.

I emailed clic about the product recalls and enhancement program so clic replied with these items entitled for enhancement:

1. Evaporator assembly

2. High Pressure Fuel Pump

3. Fitting of a thermal protector on the turbo pipe

4. 408 Timing

5. Breather hose

6. 408 Oil Pump Solenoid

7. 408 Water Pump

8. 408 Temperature Sensor

9. Turbo Electric Coolant Pump

Question:
1. Is it all free?
2. Is it necessary to do all this?
3. Where is the closest SC to Ampang/Wangsamaju?

Thanks for clarifying.

So I've read in this forum some people wait until the items breakdown before going for the enhancement. Would that apply to my situation too? The car was first purchased in September 2012 so the 5 year warranty is almost up. Would these enhancement apply even after warranty period?

I did these last year:
1.      Timing
2.      Breather hose – Labour
3.      Oil Pump Solenoid
4.      Water Pump
5.      Turbo Electric Coolant Pump

Today I just received reply from CLIC that I need to replace these:
1.      Evaporator assembly
2.        High Pressure Fuel Pump
3.      Fitting of a thermal protector on the turbo pipe
4.      408 Timing
5.      408 Water Pump

I suppose I have to leave my car in SC for 2 weeks again. Lucky I have a long year end holiday coming up.

Aiyo, seriously two weeks ah? Can get temp car or not?

Wondering how come the eTHP version accomplishes these when it's basically the same engine:
0-100 in 8.2s (408t is 9.2)
Torque 245Nm (408t 240Nm)
800km full tank!! (408t is 500km+)

Guys any tips to reduce the engine braking feel for 408T?

I didn't buy my car new, so I don't know how the new car shifts. But my car is very hesitant to shift up, have to reach almost 3k rpm before it shifts up. It helps if I reset the gearbox (step on gas 15 secs before switch on engine) where it can shift up around 2.5k but I prefer the gearbox to shift up faster, like at 2k RPM. Mainly to save fuel, but also for a smoother and less jerky ride when I'm driving my parents around (I end up using manual mode so i can force to shift early).

If I have to rev to 3k all the time, its like pointless to have a turbo. Turbos should give peak torque very early (1.4k rpm) so if engine sticks to around 1.4k rpm is enough already to pick up speed.

Supposedly we have an adaptive gearbox, but I don't see it adapting to my driving pattern yet...

Our ECU is set where it will shift around 2.5k.. mine shifts around 2.3k.. unless we can remap the ECU...
btw, how come you will feel jerky when shifting at higher RPMs?

just to share...
last 2 months, claimed both rear ABS sensor under EWP.. both got faulty one after another...
then did the latest recall as well (HPFP & the heat shield)...
now the car is back to normal..
previously felt that the power delivery is weird and always shifting at higher RPM than it should...
*
I'm due for the product recall and enhancement soon. Hopefully the power delivery and shifting is better after that.

By jerky I meant the engine braking effect. Which is very pronounced for a turbo engine because of the high torque. It's worst when going downhill.

I think some workshops already not/removed in the list maybe due to closed, too many complaints log in by owner or dispute or bad experience, so we really appreciated owner can share their experience after visited these workshop.

NA not a bullet  biggrin.gif  but fun to drive.

To share, I think most of owner who driving NA (AL-4) having a "jerking" feel during traffic jam, meaning gear shifting from 1 to 2 about 2100rpm. You can enable snow mode this time, this mode can improve start acceleration and also provided smooth shifting and save fuel theoretically because low rpm (1 to 2 about 1800 rpm).

you can try it  smile.gif
*
Hey! Great tip! I going to try this snow mode for a week. Is there anything else it does other than early shifting?

agree that engine braking is very significant esp when u driving fast and u decrease the speed alot where the GB downshifts and the engine braking effect is very significant.. but upshift have not experience before the engine braking you mentioned.. usually on downshift
*
Yes downshift is the problem. When I'm slowing down into traffic light from a high speed, it will jolt as it downshifts.

Regarding up shifting, I referring to the LACK of upshifting. Meaning it stays at low gear. Have to go until 2500 rpm for it to shift up. If I don't reach 2500 rpm and, say I need to slow down and take foot off pedal, it will create an engine breaking effect.

I don't understand why a turbo engine with 240nm torque need to rev high despite me being super gentle on my gas pedal. And why it kicks down to low gear on downhill causing engine braking. Yes I know the usefulness of engine braking, but it doesn't mean I want to engine brake at every tiny slope! If I need to, I will go to manual mode and down shift myself lah. Haiya Peugeot...

My car now at setia alam service center for enhancement since Tuesday. They can only do 8/9 items though. Should get my car back on Monday, but thanks to najib now it most likely have to be Tuesday. Damn sucks to not have my lion during this long holiday. Also booked an appointment at Kota damansara two weeks later for the 9th recall item. Hopefully they have stock. I'm going to see if I qualify for 7 year warranty during this time since I should have completed all the enhancements. Need to fix my turbo, something wrong with the hose or blowoff. 2 engine faults showing. Fuel consumption is about 12l/100km,way over the original spec of 8l/100km. And thats me driving like a nanny. Also my ride and handling sucks balls, even my myvi rides better. I think the front absorbers are jammed. My steering wobbles over uneven roads, ride is very bouncy, feels like I'm not glued to the road. I don't see any leaks on absorber so I dunno if can claim warranty if there's no visible damage?

1 week downtime is quite fast already . What's your mileage?

Yup. Setia alam has the shortest down time. And the fastest appointment time. Mileage is 87k

After completing the 9 recall items, I have successfully used my 7-year warranty to claim for dump valve & valve cover. Very simple straightforward process. I just bring car showing the fault codes. I sign up for the warranty, they order the 2 parts to replace, after 3 days setel.

Edit: but my ride still still sucks. I've told the SC to check my suspension, they don't see anything wrong. But its very bouncy and floaty on uneven roads. My 11 year old old proton savvy is miles better, no bounce, no floating feel at all and still using original shock absorbers after 11 years and 270,000km.

Actually who still service their car at Peugeot SC ya ?
I mean for those who own more than 3 years..
was thinking is it worth continue service at Peugeot SC for the 7 years warranty ..
*
I'm going to maintain the warranty coz my car is used car and I don't know if previous owner take good care of it or not. Until I'm confident the car is in good condition, i will keep the warranty. At the moment, there's no fault codes but i'm still not satisfied with the fuel consumption. Pathetic... can only go about 400km per full tank. So I'm going to kota damansara SC to check again. Hopefully can claim some more new parts under warranty.

Just send my car this morning to replace the valve cover. The noise is so damn annoying & memalukan. 408T year 2015, 105000km on mileage so far. The mechanic told me that most owners didn't complaint after they changed the defective parts. Then it means either the original parts suck or the owners are happy with the repair or they replace it outside or they sold off their car. Which doesn't comfort me much.

Baru 2 tahun pakai, sudah tukar aircond compressor/condenser,cooling coil, valve cover, fan relay & they told me these are common problems. Scary la wei.
*
But 105k km is quite a lot of driving bro. And all of those items are under warranty. I don't have any complaints so far after doing product recall and claiming warranty for defective parts. Mine is 408t 2012 used car with 90k mileage. I bought it for 35k OTR and the car is like new with 2 more years of warranty. Very happy with my car!

yeah..only previous generation 408 that had suffered tin-milo quality sampah car entitled for 7 years warranty..

hpfp, aircond all aspect prob, suspension prob, termostat prob, abs, gear knob, windscreen rubber, very low quality painting, stock battery cant even last 1 year, noisy brake pad, turbo issue (told by foreman tak tau nak tolong macam mana lagi)

remote pun boleh rosak

WHAT.A.JOKE.

disaapointed with this 100+k price tag car..sound like no diffrent with 35k second hand car..

maybe naza / peugeot already learned their mistake, and newer car probably will not suffered the same sampah issues with the old generation ones..thats why warranty only 5 years

seen a lot complaint about proton and perodua, but I dont think peugeot is superior than these local product..

proton n perodua miles ahead..

I own a 50k new myvi (including interest on loans would amount to RM60k+) and 35k used 408t (no interest coz I bought cash). The 408t at 35k is such a steal compared to my myvi! I can't stand driving my myvi after I got the (used) 408t - such a joy to drive for such a bargain price! The now 3-year old myvi no longer has warranty but my 5-year old 408t still got two years warranty. Plus, after I did the product enhancement, this car drives like new. I would like to thank all those peugeot haters for ruining resale value of Peugeot and making it's used car price so so so affordable that I can pay with cash. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

500km is not even one tank of fuel though. you're better off going to setia alam or kota damansara where you don't have to wait that long to get your recalls done.

But on the other hand, if you're doing the recall items to get the 7 year extended warranty, it doesn't matter if warranty already void. the warranty is renewed after recalls are done.

I doubt you'll get anything more than $25k. Better to keep it as 2nd car or spare family car.

In my case I have a truck as a spare & utility vehicle. Wanted to sell my 408t 2012 model, as I'm buying another car end of this month. But since I was offered only $28k, decided to keep it, although it will be 3rd vehicle in the house.
*
Who offered you 28k? Maybe dealer price. But if you sell directly, you can get 30k

Any updates on the compressor part availability? Mine is no longer cold enough, need to get new compressor also. I went to seremban SC but they say I cannot come on Saturdays to claim warranty. Must come back weekday. Also, they have 15 cars at the SC awaiting compressor change.
