Update about my car :

1) went to sc aftr the car coolant above min level.....aftr chcking they found problem with water pump...SC need to order from HQ......SC said its normal for turbo car like pug suck a lot of coolant....also they topup the coolant

2) Is it true that Malaysia pug took out the coolant alert from the car becoz it too sensitive....i means if the coolant touch the min level it will beep us although it still sufficeint for the car....that what been told by my SC....

Honestly, i have no idea why it is like that      Maybe the brochure tipu?? I also tak tau. If somebody has gone more than 215kmh on the road, then at least we can verify it.

And yes the car is on 6th gear. Have to be at that gear to go Vmax.

Sharing on after warranty maintenance on my 408T.

1. Aircon compressor faulty

Symptom before compressor faulty is aircon sometimes not cold at all and requires multiple ON/OFF to get it working. Happen for about 2 months and then compressor totally kaput.

SC lead tech in sg petani told new cost would be around 5k (confirmed by one of our forumer here) and suggest a shop that can do this. So i went there and replacement done within 2-3hours. Very skillful guy and know what he's doing.

He agreed to give 1yr warranty if replace compressor together with condenser. Total cost RM2100 for compressor+condenser+aircon gas+labor. Parts used all Denso.

2. Gear knob suddendly broken.
Google and found out this guy facebook selling peugeot items. The knob price rm64 almost no different compared to original. I also purchase rim nut cap as i lost one cap. Bank in the money and received the items the next day. Knob just need to push down to install.

I don't think aircons is covered under extended warranty. Right now I am at a non SC Peugeot workshop doing regular service and change of brake pads. Not going to bother with this extended warranty, coverage is vague and unclear!

How did it go? I mean the procedure on claiming faulty parts under extended warranty? Did they take their own sweet time?

Happy New Year. I am about to place my booking for 408 THP, would like to seek advice from fellow 408 owners here if I should opt to upgrade to the touch screen panel+reverse camera for additional RM2,500? Or i could find better after-market options out there with that price?

The SA told me that changing the audio system will not affect the warranty, but i would like to seek opinion from existing owners here on this matter.

Did they tell you what the problem is. On this model, it is usually a faulty compressor internal bearing. They will order the part, which takes roughly 2weeks. Once the part has arrived it's roughly a 4hr job. No need to leave your car at the workshop for 3 -4 days.
Yes it is possible. The steering is a hydro-electric system. The steering turns are electrically processed and hydraulically executed at the wheels.

for those who planned to renew insurance this year.

etiqa quoted RM66k for a 2013 turbo and RM60k for a 2012 turbo.

alternatively aig can offer agreed value at 89k for my 2013 unit. premium is slightly higher but you get the full amount for total lost claims.

wind screen replacement prices went up as well. i just called nasim body and paint repairs centre and they asked me to insure RM3000 for windscreen and labour and another RM1300 for tinting.

Good to hear that. It's also good to learnt that they are aware of the water pump issue but too bad they are getting it rectified silently.

mine doesn't leak but they still changed it.

i read there was a compressor recall in china too. premature failure like what we're experiencing now.

yo bro, what is your mileage like now, my NA has changed once too at roughly about 45,000km, at what mileages were yours (Turbo) changed?

What compressor? Denso? And? Sanded? Or maybe due to workmanship?

Is compressor failure a common issue with 408?
