Had mine both rear ABS sensor changes Year 2018

408 (NA) any sifu know when should change the timing belt?

Brake pad

Friendly warning to all.
Avoid using OEM brake pad e.g. Valeo if you do no want to hear the squeaking when applied brake.

Changed front brake pad at a shop at Taman Mayang PJ (A.. M.... Express). Valeo brand at RM250. Nightmare start....every time apply brake, regardless high speed or tailing in a jam. The squeaking sound will accompany

2-3 times back to the shop and the owner only help to clean the pad with sand paper. On the 3rd visit, replaced the disk (RM390) as recommended. Hope the sound will resolve but the peaceful drive only last 3 days.

back to the shop again, again clean with sand paper which not solving the problem. 5th visit, the owner replace another new pad (Valeo brand) also using warranty. This time worst, not even 1 day the sound appear.

The shop owner seem no interest to resolve the problem even I am willing to pay new brake pad in other brand.

Finally go to SG Auto at Taman Puncak Jalil (my regular workshop), problem resolve by replacing the Valeo brand pad with original Peugeot. The foreman show me the different of workmanship of both brand.

layman like me will not able to differentiate real or fake Valeo, have to depend on the shop

me using 408 (2.0) since Year 2012, already the 7th Years and still good for me and no major issue.

I have a practice to allocate RM500 per month for all expenses related to the car which include road tax, insurance, service, maintenance, repair and even monthly car wash and yearly polish wax. (exclude petrol)

as at to-date, the fund accumulated still + and therefore still using the car which is comfortable.

Major repair is only on air cond system which I replaced few parts and cost RM3k+

For me is reasonable for the good workmanship
the whole dashboard need to be removed to replace the parts (as per photo)
That is the reason I did not go back to SC for the recall, do not have confident that SC will do a good job and worry car will have lots of "bird" sound

I just replace engine mounting and gearbox mounting on 25/9/2019 at Renautech

Engine mounting - can be seen the rubber broken coz located just beside the engine. I suspected this crack for months due to me can feel the car have kind of jerking each time accelerate. Finally have kind of funny sound when totally broken on 24/9/2019

Gearbox mounting - not easy to inspect coz only can inspect by remove the gearbox (from bottom) or remove the entire battery component. Lucky, Renautech willing to remove and inspect for me. The mounting look good from outside but internal already have crack line. So decide to change since so difficult to remove (seen by myself how the technician struggle to remove all components above the mounting)

After replacing both the mounting, the car so smooth and quiet

for Renautech for being helpful (attend to my car immediately upon arrival) and of course the excellent job by the experience technician (from the way he remove the component and fix back)

Gearbox mounting

the rubber inside the mounting broken and when the mounting removed from the car, the part with rubber which holding the metal part is shaking

gearbox mounting cost about 200+, cannot recall the exact amount but luckily Renautech check

i am not sure coz the engine mounting only visible with broken rubber and causing obvious jerking each time accelerate but i request Renautech to check all mounting and they did.

gearbox mounting appear in good conditions but experience Renautech technician test the mounting using a long metal, then told me the quality not so good.

After i decided to replace and he remove the mounting, true enough the rubber have few crack line from inside (forget to take photo) or else can share here

my 408 (2.0) air cond blow out black sponge dust from the right diffuser, temporary need to close that diffuser.

Anyone experience the same?

send the car to Master Cool and need to replace the sponge inside the air cond system and the whole dashboard need to be removed again (similar to last year when I replace the cooling coil)

Job done, since dashboard remove already. I did the service of cooling coil and replace the expansion valve.
I highlighted the plastic sound from the dashboard and request Master Cool to give special attention when they fix back the dashboard
Result - the sound no more. Really appreciate the good job by Master Cool

my 408 (2.0) experience the gear cannot shift during the last Sunday and this happened without any symptom

when I want to reverse and shift the pedal to R as usual, the gear remain at D.

Then after I shift the pedal to P and the pedal stuck there with the gear still at D

I off the engine and cannot restart coz gear indicator remain at D

Thinking have to tow the car to workshop and call the breakdown service provided by AIG insurance

The breakdown technician arrive in about 30 minutes and dunno what he adjust from the engine side. The gear back to normal and I can drive to Renautech without towing

Renautech replaced the gear selector and problem solve
