As I understand, NA major service is at 80k. Which means ,service price at 80k ($3300) is right. Which also means, 50k & 60k service should be normal. Why are those high. Check your bill on what additional work was done.

Finally picked up my Peugeot 408 2.0 just now.

Quick finding.
1. Quality & handling ok.
2. Interior finishing ok but slightly blemish by spot here & there. Acceptable but still Peugeot could do better to improve their image.

Later will drive from Penang to Ipoh then Gerik, and final destination - Kota Bharu.

Hi, am just wondering.. is it a good idea to get 408 2.0 now with 79k price tag? am also looking at city and vios..

My fc with 2.0 about 10 l/100km in city driving..used to drive my pug in manual transmission and using third gear most of time, only step up to fourth gear if the distance of the  traffic light is far away from the next one..

Funny thing is mine seems to be sticking to 8.8/100, city drive or out station runs. On out station runs I usually do between 130 -150kmh. speeds. I'm not an overly aggressive drive,but do like a brisk overtake.  Beginning to suspect my indication may be erroneous.

FC used to be 9.7/100km, drop to 8.6/100km after enhancement package last May, now has settled at 8.8/100km.

1. Does the Maintenance wise is bad for this car?

How do you reset average fc?

IMO changing plugs at 50K should not affect your FC, but if your FC has increased then it is a good idea to change them. Check out functionality of oxygen sensor. This also leads to high FC if faulty.

Not sure about the white privilege card. I was one of the early buyers in 2012, no card at that time.

Mine is coming up to end on 5th year. Last week decided to check out FC on my way to Penang. Just before the trip I reset the counter, held 150kmh almost all the way, slowing down for traffic and AES spots. Was very pleased to note average FC 8.3/100, even at that speed.

This Prince is certainly quite an efficient engine! Very happy with it's reliability & performance even after 5 years!

Does the parts includes all those routine servicing parts?

hehe 8 months r..hope i will not spend money for battery for another 30 months ..my previous batteries, both last till atleast 1.5 year..

i dont think need to reset ecu..during my previous bttery changed, i just changed date n time only..

about alternator, recently the batteriku.com foreman already check with his voltmenter..not sure how to read, but he said alternator still ok..

i think any battery shop that familiar with peugeot can  check the alternator

Maybe can go to some workshop that does suspension check using machine to test the dampers performance?
If you are in Klang Valley, can drop by the Tayaria at Jalan Penchala.. they will test the front and back using machine and provide the report..
it cost RM26.50 (with GST) for doing the test..

Hi, My ABS sensor and ESP is also faulty. Went Peugeot to diagnose and they will change all four sensors under waranty.
But have to wait about a month. The Service people says still can drive. Is it safe to drive?

actually ... when they plug in the computer and they can read the log ...
it will show which one is faulty ..

but then once the ABS faulty appear, your car will running in safe mode ..

Safe mode mean? less power or cap the speed limit?
