Hi all
If a student coming from Arts & has not done Physics for SPM will he be able to cope with the Foundation course in IT as it has Principles of Physics as a subject.
Hello, a soon-to-be an alumni of MMU, am a B.CS (Game Development) student, took Foundation in IT at MMU, and was an art student here.
Though a bit late, but I'll try answering.
Will you be able to cope with that subject without prior studies in Physics? Yes. Yes, you can. Definitely. It's not that overwhelming and it's, for sure, doable for an art student. You just need to put a little bit more effort than others. And if you can find friends whom were in science stream, that'll come in handy when you need a helping hand to explain things for you.
Technically, the topics covered in that 3-months long-semester are mostly what those in Form 4 & Form 5 have learned. There are some things here and there that are new for a science stream student, and a little in-depth and detailed, but nothing much really. If you have time, you can try flipping through Form 4/5 reference books to get a little understanding of it in case you're worried.
More than anything though, the Math subjects are the one you might need to be cautious of. Especially when you get to Degree. That Calculus subject almost had me during my first year.
Well, I might just be that bad with Maths though.
Cheers.
