SHOULD be different la. Maybe you can try and then call up your bank to check your transaction what MCC is it.

i suspect toll readers are now bypassing authorization verification to reduce delay.

potential risk is card may not have insufficient balance (prepaid/debit) or expired/suspended (credit card)

likely they will compile a blacklist, whereby each failed-to-charge cards checked. this way, we cannot repeatedly use the same card to skip tolls.

FPX is using bank account..where is the credit card option ?

FPX itself doesnt contain MCC (irrelevant). However, an FPX merchant is assigned with a different 5 digit code called MSIC = Malaysia Standard Industrial Classification; representing the nature of business of an organization. It is a standard classification for all economic activities in Malaysia.

I prefer this. Just like SG’s public transport. Record first, charge later. Yes there’s a potential of card insufficient balance but I as the end user rather have this than the 1-2seconds verification.

At most, blacklist all of their bank cards and only allow them to use TnG until they pay it back. This will require the help of BNM and banks. Tedious but it will smoothen the payment @ tolls.
