Hi guys, is it safe lock the car without put gear on reverse?
*
Everytime you lock the car without put gear on reverse the gearbox will try to lock your gear three times and after that it will stop.
So it can be done, but idk if the gearbox will last, or if the lock will last.

I suggest you to call your SA and ask them when are they going to send you the chasis number and car reg no. For my case, I get my car reg no 1 day after I do my booking and chasis number before loan approval. Lucky my SA is efficient.

Also, do write an email to HQ and tell them your case. They will shoot the email to respective departments and internal process will begin to 'wake up'.

Are you talking about auto/cvt? I have an auto. In fact, my very first auto car. Is it stated in the manual that we have to put the gear at R while parking?

Another situation,I read somewhere that it is not a good idea to put the car at N everytime we stop the car at traffic light. I believe that is for conventional auto, not cvt. So, is it safe for frequent D-N changes for shorter time?

If you have an auto/cvt, put to P when parking. The reply above is for an earlier question which is certainly for a manual transmission.

Yes. You should ask your SA. The letter SA got from Bank regarding the loan do have your chasis number written.

It's okay to shift between D and N if the car is stationary. I only do it if I anticipate a relatively long wait, like if I just missed the green light, for instance.

What's NOT good is shifting to and from N while the car is moving.

Mostly ppl change to N at traffic lights is so that they dont need to press brakes (unless happen to be at sloppy or hilly area)

then the question is, if you are still going to apply the brakes anyway, what's the point you want to change it to N? Might as well leave it at D. and just in case you are wondering, NO you will NOT save fuel by being in N instead of D. Which then ultimately leads to this, changing from N to D and vice versa becomes pointless (unless you dont want/lazy to step on the brake pedal) and since it is pointless, it causes unnecessary/premature wear and tear to your transmission system.

probably one of the bad apples in the SA people..

Received 10x miscalls from my SA last monday while I was in a meeting. She want to ask me if I want to change color if want car quick before other SA got it.. So terharu..haha

Better call and ask ur SA to explain. I also dont know there is a chasis number on the loan document, but later that day my SA whatsapped me the chassis number..

Push your SA..sms, call, whatsapp him every hour
