Hi adijb! I guess part the question has been answered below. I'm thinking of Axia and Saga variants, I don't know much about car, please enlighten me.
and although lowyat can be quite useful.. there are way too many toxicated minds here I must say.
Thanks for the information. May I know how much it would cost to add bodykit/spoiler on our own? Would it still be cheaper than getting the exec variant?
Hey Vincent, I think I've contacted you already.
I've pm'ed you, thanks!

Axia is decent if you want to go from A to B where A to B is rather short distance and if you take higher variant as it comes with ABS and other stuff which I believe should be a concern since I saw that you said you are a car newbie later on. Locking your brakes especially if you panic is dangerous and not fun at all. Anyway my first point on short distance is because Axia is a low cc 3 cylinder engine therefore for long distance, you will end up burning more fuel and the ride will not be comfortable as you will end up driving at higher RPM's therefore burning a lot of fuel.
Saga has a decent amount of power. My dad owns a BLM. Its lighter than the Iriz therefore pick up is faster but based on what I just checked on the specs, it also lacks ABS. You will get more space than the Axia in terms of storage and probably rear passenger room as well. However for the Saga BLM and FLX(my friend owns one and I often sat in his car) tends to rev up quickly so it could be noisy but the amount of power he has when driving the FLX is quite good. I remember on highway he drops gear from 5th to 3rd to switch to the fast lane and the time taken to reach the desired speed is quick. Comparing an Axia to a Saga, I would prefer the saga as it serves more purposes than the Axia.
Iriz comes with a lot of safety features, its fat and fun. Overall, owning this makes me feel glad I didnt cheap out and get the Saga. Well, to be honest, I have been eyeing this car ever since they launched it and I read all the positive reviews and how people sing praises about it. Took it for 2 test drives where the 2nd time is when I really abused the car to the max with high speed cornerings, brake tests, etc and I was happy with it. Only thing that I regret about buying this car is not getting the 1.6 variant. Well, 1.3 is good for daily use and long distance but who doesnt want more power.

I couldn't agree more. I wouldn't want to burden them more than as I am already.
Quick question, won't it be more cheaper to add bodykit/spoiler on our own, instead of forking out a few k's more for the exec spec? (Typical car newbie)
Advices would really be appreciated, thanks!
Doing the body kit outside is quite a hassle. Not sure if proton can complain about anything when you want to claim warranty and void it but I think its not worth the risk. You dont really need the rear wiper. I only use it mainly to clean the window. However comparing standard and executive, standard feels incomplete. Hatchback cars without spoiler feels like a botak guy not wearing a cap. If you are getting the Iriz, I would recommend the 1.3 Exec since you dont want to burden your parents. If possible, learn to drive a manual and you will have plenty more fun and its cheaper. Btw my logic of auto and traffic jams is you are only using 1 leg so its imbalanced and if you know how to drive a manual well, you dont really feel any different from being stuck in jams with an auto car especially with the Iriz's clutch is rather light.Quick question, won't it be more cheaper to add bodykit/spoiler on our own, instead of forking out a few k's more for the exec spec?
