FYI this time around it's easier to service imported iPhones. I talked with a rep at VR Tech (Megan Avenue 2, KL) and he said they can only service iPhone models that are sold in Malaysia/Singapore.

For iPhone 6/6+, that meant the Sprint model.

For iPhone 6s/6s+, that means the Verizon/T-Mobile/Sprint model. AT&T model is different, and will not be serviceable in Malaysia.

However, this time around Apple requires US carrier account for all ONLINE iPhone orders (even when paid in full), so cannot do like last year and order it to ship to a US address. If you want to buy it and take it overseas, you'll have to buy in-store.

So, it's definitely easier to get it from AU/HK/SG, even they can be up to RM 1000 more expensive due to exchange rates.

Yup..regarding the carrier thing, I not sure la bro..wait for other sifus in this thread to reply.

My brother also in USA studying..easily can ask him to get iphone and send to me..but I think can get cheaper with digi plan la..and Summore postage from us to Malaysia is about 30usd to 50 usd (he not coming back anytime soon)..also as far as I know, better to get unlocked version if buying from USA.. smile.gif

USA is the cheapest among all, but as mentioned, must be careful on getting from which carrier.
if get unlocked should be fine, but then comes the question about logistics.
unless you have a friend coming back, currier will cost you somewhere between 250-350.
so that will cut the difference down to minimal.
same goes for units coming from aussie.
Malaysia shud be have these phones by late nov or early dec if previous indictions are to be followed.

Based on previous indications "s" models tend to come out mid Oct/end Oct and the non "s" models tend to come out early November. Based on 5s and 4s experiences

Definately more than that. For example, the 6s+ 64gb will cost around rm4400 after conversion from SGD. So if u compare the 6+ 64gb price here now which is around rm3649, taking into consideration the new 6s+ 64 gb will be Rm300 more. We are looking at least rm500 difference.

Not bad..but conversion from SGD is only rm4237 bro..but yeah still can jimat..especially when sign up with carrier plans

Eg digi is I just renew contract for the 78 plan which I'm using now without contract, I can save about rm900 more with the plan and continue to just pay rm78 monthly..

the only reason I'm waiting now is because of digi price of the iphone..nothing else

Maxis Celcom umobile I don't know la tongue.gif

Looking at our downward spirallying trend for the Rm, coupled with currency exchange rates imposed by CC, its going to be near Rm4400. Trust me. nod.gif

Oh yeah, I have not included transportation and logistics for the phone to come back to Malaysia yet. laugh.gif
