QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Sep 13 2015, 11:26 AM) QUOTE(ResQ @ Sep 13 2015, 11:29 AM) yes if convert, for 128gb it is around 4080, if i bought from uk will get around 5080, 1k differences. im a bot concern about the carrier things USA is the cheapest among all, but as mentioned, must be careful on getting from which carrier. if get unlocked should be fine, but then comes the question about logistics. unless you have a friend coming back, currier will cost you somewhere between 250-350. so that will cut the difference down to minimal. same goes for units coming from aussie. Malaysia shud be have these phones by late nov or early dec if previous indictions are to be followed. |

QUOTE(gouken @ Sep 13 2015, 06:24 PM) After a streak of iphone upgrade each year, I would pass this round for the first time. RM4K++ is ALOT of money for a phone for a poor fag like me. But I ll be buying iPad Pro + Pencil 100% because i have waited it for years to help with my illustration works. QUOTE(jin_akira @ Sep 13 2015, 08:18 PM) Wah you guys still considering ah the 6S/6S Plus despite the high price. Good2. Hopefully i can last til iPhone 7S (or whatever the name is) i've been doing the upgrade streak on launch day since the original iPhone. was very close on ending the streak with this release but somehow did not let that happen. financially it is not easy to do this, but the sale of the previous gen phones during new launch helps fuel the funding. i pitty samsung or android users tho. buy phones on launch day at 3k, in a month loose 1k value, over a year loose more than half value. wonder how they fuel their upgrade each year. |

QUOTE(jin_akira @ Sep 14 2015, 01:58 AM) Uhh don't think that's how it works man haha. First, there's only a handful of Android devices that are more than RM2600, can count actually (Note 5, S6 Edge/+, can't remember the rest that are more than RM2600). If it is more than 20, then i'll retract this statement. As for the depreciation, it clearly did not depreciate that fast. Look at the Note 3 and 4 when it came out. Even after a few months out it's still expensive. A new Note 4 now is still around RM1900-RM2000 which is clearly a RM300-RM400 depreciation after a year. Second hand also it still depreciate at a slow rate. If not, what you're saying now is i can buy a Sony Z3 at RM600 (first year RM1000 off, over a year another half more). You can search how much a Sony Z3 cost now which would clearly indicate that it depreciated at a slow rate (1800 after a year coming from RM2200). I'm just gonna give an example here. What you may be referring to is the S6 Edge 32gb which costs RM3099. The market price for it now is RM2300-2400. In this case, then yes; it's the only phone for now that depreciated at a rapid pace. Maybe because the price was too high leading to low demand and ultimately low market value. So far this is the only Android phone that fits the description of a fast depreciating Android phone. As for the rest, i don't see any that faced a similar fate like the S6 Edge. And we don't need to downplay Android as much; they've come a long way with a bunch of features and had the hold-for-options feature way before this 3D Touch thingy. Their features may not be flawless (laggy, sometimes not working, crash) but they still managed to realize the concept, which is a start. S4, launched at RM2199. quick search in GS showing a range of RM500-700. the iPhone 5, 5S are still commanding RM1k-RM1.5K. heck, even the 4S is priced above the S4. i am not downplaying Android here. I appreciate what they do and have no qualms using their phone. i am merely talking about resale value here to fuel new gen purchases. nothing more. |

QUOTE(krofal @ Sep 14 2015, 12:07 PM) Hi guys, I'm heading over to Singapore on the 24th this month for holiday, and so happens the phone is available the next day. I'm staying over at Marina Bay Sands, can anyone here with experience of buying the iPhone from Singapore provide me with some advice on the below? 1. Buy from Apple Online Store or can get from their premium re-seller like EpiCenter? 2. If buy from Apple Online Store, cannot claim back the GST right? 3. If order from Apple Online Store, the address I should put hotel name and send to reception? Thanks in advance!! QUOTE(G-17 @ Sep 14 2015, 12:33 PM) Firstly, how many days do you plan to stay in Singapore? Buying online during launch week will entail a long wait time, usually 2 week bare minimum. everything mentioned by G17 is true.1. Your best bet to get it on launch day is to go line up at a physical Apple store or premium re-seller. 2. AFAIK, if you're leaving SG via the causeway (ie, you're traveling by car or bus) - Cannot - https://www.iras.gov.sg/IRASHome/uploadedFi...20on%20eTRS.pdf (Q7). Some stores will sometimes waive the GST if you buy with a foreign credit card, but those are usually small private businesses and not chain stores). If buying from online store, confirm cannot. 3. You need to check with your hotel. Different hotels have different policies. A hotel with such high traffic like MBS, I'm doubtful unless you're a VIP guest. just something to add on, if u plan to line up and buy, it can go either way. one, u can encounter long queues at all those places selling and by indication, rose gold will be sold out before u know it. 2nd, if u are lucky and no queue, then can straight away buy. last year i line up at midnight, the store only had one 6plus that also 128. lookout for announcements from resellers if they will be selling on launch day. |

QUOTE(attw @ Sep 14 2015, 03:57 PM) This is generally true. But I have a suspicion it's more of a Samsung problem than an Android one... my bad. should have stated Sammy in the first place. QUOTE(attw @ Sep 14 2015, 04:05 PM) [attachmentid=4946615] Looking at the minimal changes in dimensions, is it safe to assume the current iPhone 6 Plus cases will fit the iPhone 6S Plus? QUOTE Every time Apple releases a new iPhone, there’s always the question of whether or not your old case will work with the new models. Thankfully, Apple’s own store suggests older cases will still work. If you take a look at one of Apple’s iPhone 6s leather cases, you’ll find this little note: The case fits snugly and your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6 still feels incredibly slim, even with the case on. Which is all to say that despite the the chunkier phone, old cases should work (tighter cases could have problems). So don’t rush out and spend a ton of money on a specific 6s/6s Plus case unless you want to. |

QUOTE(deepan84 @ Sep 14 2015, 04:28 PM) 1) are u using i6plus? i am and my experience on safari is horrible.. i cant shift app and return without reloading. 2gb is way due. fully agree on the first point. it will always reload and never is available right away after switching. 2) camera always got improvement with each new iphone. so nothing new there. next year it will be the same script again on camera and processor. 3) i personally dont do video recording on my phone. so doesnt apply to me. 4) the 3d touch is a gimmick, just like Siri, which i dont use at all.. and siri was touted as the nxt big thing.. but i do agree that iOS is simple to use. so used to it already..haha.. but with the current iphone prices, i might shift to other phones nxt year coz the functions dont justify the pricing. they allow u to record a 4k video, but u can't playback 4k on that device. probably store the videos for a year and watch them on next year's phone. ;p the 3d touch no doubt is a gimmick, but like siri, a certain group of people seem to love it over the years and can't live without it. not me and you, but there are people who use this. from the time siri was launched, we had seen a lot of companies coming up with personal assistants and voice search, ect. i've seen this voice thing a big thing in the US. maybe we asians don't fancy this as much, but they sure do. QUOTE(bobboy @ Sep 14 2015, 04:49 PM) its not because of iphone price.. but ringgit malaysia drop like najib shlt. we have to pay high prices for our phones because of him. but who care the price of apple product.. the quality is no.1 and the software and satisfaction is i mostly record video.. to many video until my 32gb is not enough.. no games on phone and the the 3d touch i think is good.. for ppl maybe use alot email things.. need to reply or compose really2 fast.. i'm using 5s.. plan to upgrade to 6.. but that not impress me at all.. all the same except screen size and resolution. no offense even 5s quality image a little bit better than 6.. follow the circumstances condition laa.. plan to take 6s 128gb..hope price not touch 4k lol..btw still waiting review for 6s last year our prices were so much better than this year. even if our economy become better in time, we might still lose as we r paying higher now and will get lesser in return when selling. |

QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Sep 15 2015, 08:08 AM) this is based on the website and reviews only..i have no first hand experiance: just a precaution for u guys. apple does not ship to forwarders. the express shipping is done by gdex/dhl and its about 20 to 50 usd the shipping costs. also it take bout 6 business days to arrive to malaysia from their warehouse how it works? well first u buy the iphone, then ship to the address hopshopgo gave u upon registration, if im not mistaken the address is at oregon and can avoid tax..then once the iphone reach hopshopgo, they will inform u and then ship to malaysia. btw, do give a review once u tested the iphone 6s..im dying here trying to decide to get the 6s or note 5 u can try ur luck, but ur order will eventually get cancelled. as for the note 5 vs ip6s, i can say for now that note5 will be smooth as butter in the beginning. after time, the lag will come to show and won't be as smooth any longer. iPhone 6s+ review on the 25 hopefully. |

QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Sep 15 2015, 10:39 AM) yes..u pointed out my main concern..the eventually lag with samsung phones which i experienced with all my samsung devices i used for the past 9 years..but most reviewers say note 5 seems promising.. I'm not buying and selling my unit. guess now is still too early to judge, and by end of oct/nov when 6s come out and the reviews are out, i think can make better decision on which to choose (6s+ probably btw u already got buyer for your 6s+ 64gb ? my seller ffk me dy, luckily didnt put deposit. (phone not for me, for father) buying for myself to use. any extra unit i get, will be to help this section forumers. no profit, only cover leg work cost. the only thing i need to sell is my old iPhone 6 & 6plus. |

QUOTE(Connect2USales @ Sep 15 2015, 11:08 AM) Is it? borderlinx and hopshopgo claimed that members can buy from Apple USA and send it to their address. They have been spamming me since apple launch the date.. haha.. i get the same spam around launch of new apple items. but when i do try to order, they will give me high hopes by accepting my order. then comes the sorry ur order has been cancelled email. I tested note 5 demo unit on day 1 and its smooth like butter. But after 2 weeks as a demo set, i did noticed slight lag. But on normal usage, you probably wont realised it yet. I purposely test on it, therefore the feeling is there. I think based on a normal day to day use, it probably last for 1.5 to 2 years before the lag become unbearable. It's a good improvement for android or samsung in particular. But my main phone will still be iPhone.. its more simple to use as a daily driver apple has blacklisted all known forwarders addresses. QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Sep 15 2015, 11:11 AM) only 2 weeks android memory management has been bad and never been fixed. im looking for a phone that can last 3 years lol..guess 6s+ then it is that is y with their 3gb or 4gb ram, still lag will come to show. here apple side, 1gb has been enough even till date as their memory management is outstanding. but they know it won't be withstanding time changes so they finally decided to bump it up a notch. |

QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Sep 15 2015, 11:37 AM) hahaha...my mind keep changing for the past few days due to many opinions and advices.. buying a phone is also dependable on which ecosystem u r most invested in. at the end, my mind will only be decided once iphone comes to malaysia and digi officially, as for now, im still undecided to get note 5 or 6s+ or BOTH like me for example, i have been using the iPhone since the first original. and then came the app store where i had bought hundreds of apps. then along the same time had got the macbook pro and then later the iPad n then the apple tv n most recently the apple watch. so my ecosystem is all connected. the seamless experience between my devices will not be mirrored by any other platform as per my satisfaction. sure, i do use android as a second phone, n they have been great too but i can't see myself making it my main driver. android phones are like ur fling/affair, u like hanging out with them n all but u always return home to ur own people. |

QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ Sep 15 2015, 11:54 AM) alright..let iphone 6s+ be my first apple device then (aside from the ipad i used last year before selling it) connect easily is still hard to think about. never try never know, who knows maybe i might like the apple ecosystem too coz im going to change to a macbook once the skylake processor are in the macbook now my android devices are connected to windows 10 only via google drive, the messages and other stuffs still need to transfer manually..i heard iphone and macbook they connect easily with iPhone n mac signed in to the same iCloud, there is no connecting. it just works seamlessly. without u having to do anything. QUOTE(attw @ Sep 15 2015, 11:55 AM) Same here, bro. Despite its shortcomings, iOS 8 continuity and handoff features were game changers for me. While I don't see myself as a die-hard iFag or whatever you may call it, it's hard to imagine myself using an Android phone as a main device. the pain can be eased by the economy being better and new prices come to their normal level. Sigh, the real pain now is the hole that will burn in my wallet everytime an upgrade comes along.... Arrrghhh... hope next year USD will be kind to us. |

QUOTE(ryan18 @ Sep 16 2015, 07:07 PM) anyone ever q for sg iPhone launch.hows the experience.epicentre orchard road or epicentre marina bay sands better? i queued up last year for the launch in sg. and based on previous experience, resellers in a mall u will have to line up outside the mall, not at the doorstep of the reseller. the ip5 year, people lined up at the door and was a mess by the time u reach reseller doorstep. so they learned that and last year gave out tickets at mall doors before opening them. MBS is a popular place to line up. just beware of foreign workers lining up for men with sling bags(scalpers from HK). if too many foreign workers, ur chance of getting an iPhone is as good as over. plus those wanting the rose gold, don't have high hopes. might be very very very limited in quantity. |
