or might as well consider upgrading to AIO cooler like the EVGA CLC280 or NZXT X62 biggrin.gif

Waoh the total pricetag sweat.gif
Any option to purchase d15 w/o included brown fans?
*
No ala-carte.
FYI, out of the box the NH-D15S comes with one single NF-A15 PWM fan.
The cheaper option is to buy a used unit.
Resell the original beige/brown fan as it is valuable for someone who needs it. thumbup.gif

Haha good idea. Will try to find one but i think ppl will be reluctant to sell off this beast brows.gif thanks for all your replies btw notworthy.gif

I think not many people buying D15S or even D15 due to its bulky size (compatibility issue) and appearance.
That's why you hardly see any used unit for sale. biggrin.gif

Malaysia Day benching with ROG Maximus X Formula. biggrin.gif
Finally I'm able to get my 4x8GB TridentZ RGB (B-die) passed HCl Memtest 300% (~ 4 hours) at DDR4-4400 CL19-19-19-39-2T at 1.50v after relaxing all the tRDWR subtimings to 19 from ASUS's default of 16.

tref.. not possible at max??

its at 7.8 now right.. but afaik ddr4 can got max right... ( or is it a x299 thing)

so after what speed only 2t is possible?? 1t whats the max??.. sometimes feel like plugging my rams into z370 and try it.. but hmm leceh.. lol...
*
You mean tREFI 65535 or what value are you suggesting? For now, I'm running at default of 7.8µs, so 2200*7.8= 17160. I didn't tweak anything other than those tRDWR subs = tRAS = 19, then only I'm able to achieve stability at 19-19-19-39-2T from 19-21-21-39-2T @ 1.45v.

From my previous testing, I found that 1T is performing slower than 2T (confirmed by Raja) so I don't bother testing 1T ever since.

btw, fuhh I just realized that G.Skill also has a tighter DDR4-4400 (F4-4400C18D-16GTZR) kit listed on their website: https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-4400c18d-16gtzr
Rated at 1.40v, definitely better binned than my kit and/or that non-RGB DDR4-3600 C15 kit.

370 Euro for 2x8GB: https://www.memoryc.com/24618-16gb-g-skill-...intel-z270.html

Could be the same bin as yours or better.
I'm now testing 4400 at 1.45v, seems stable so far at HCl 100% but I aim for 1000%.

1.45v gave me an error between 100-200%.
Need to tweak a bit.

Hi. Wanna ask, the red circle on this thing is mosfet?
I jus notice this mobo dont have heatsink on here lol..
Wonder if installing 3rd party heatsink is ok? Like those small vrm heatsink

And if install, if needed to RMA, can simply remove the heatsink? Assuming applied with included thermal pads

Thanks notworthy.gif
*
Yes, those are another set of MOSFETs/VRM. Not being cooled by any heatsink probably because they are a little weak (low-end mobo) and won't generate too much heat.

Moreover, usually board manufacturer would expect users of such entry-level would only use air cooler hence the cool air coming from the cooling fans on top of VRM area.

However, if you feel that this area is toasty then you may consider putting a 3rd party heatsink over there. You can remove the heatsink before sending for RMA.

hello, thanks for replying

wanna ask, will the included thermal pads be too adhesive? haha i don't wanna damage the mosfets when removing the heatsinks.

should've went for more expensive mobo, but guess ill make do with what i have

on a side note, is TMPIN3 temps related to these mosfets? tq
*
Thermal pads are easily removable, won't stick to the MOSFETs.

I don't think TMPIN3 represents the MOSFETs temp. Usually named as VRM temp in monitoring software such as HWiNFO64. But take note that not all mobo provides VRM temp monitoring, only those higher end boards do. Yours is low end, so...

So i stopped my stress test after 4 hours without any error. I guess that's enough? or need more.
For AVX offset, do I really need to set it? I read your post previously it is being used in games such as bf but I dont play that game hehehe.  I tried running prime95 with avx offset 3, so it runs @ 4.7GHz the whole time?  confused.gif
*
For me, 4 hours priming without any error already can confirm that your OC is stable for 24/7.

Since your 5.0GHz already stable with AVX offset 0 and still within your cooling limit, I don't see why you need to play with AVX offset at 5.0GHz.

Or maybe you can try playing with 5.1GHz AVX offset -1 at the current vCore @ 1.296v.

Thermal cooling will be better than the traditional thermal paste application?
*
Of course, solder is basically metal (indium?), which conducts heat better than any thermal paste.
CPU temps will definitely be excellent after this, without needing to delid the CPU. rclxms.gif

damn... 3 months back just bought gigabyte Z370 aorus gaming 7...haiz doh.gif bangwall.gif

ya it took them quite a while to finally fix the VRM temperature issue.
If that doesn't solve I don't know what to say already biggrin.gif

true, lucky they still know how to turn back. if not gone already name...they do alert and aware of people complaints..haiz..
anyway z370 board can support new intel 9th proc also right? because the latest bios update says support new gen micro code..wondering it will perform weird or not.. hmm.gif
*
Yes, the new Intel 9th CPUs are compatible with Z390 and Z370 chipsets with the updated BIOS.
Z390 vs Z370, other than the two new key features, the new chipset is equipped with beefier VRMs with extra power connectors (8+4/8+8-pins vs single 8-pin). So, you can expect higher OC potential with the new Z390 boards over Z370.

Who's already got one?

AFAIK local 9900K stock no ETA yet.
