Typical consumer's interpretation of a 'slow' connection issue. It's usually not a localized issue (though it's possible), TM's practice is to perform initial troubleshooting at your end for possible hardware issue. But given the pattern that you said (bad ping at night), then it's possible that its due to a congestion within your area so the issue is most likely within their exchange.

Won't be solved until they perform an upgrade within their exchange. Or they do a better job of load balancing.

last time i pakai unifi, sometimes.hav those problem that TS mentioned.
certain hours or certain side slower or higher ping.
i trace route for period of time, & notice that they change route often.

now on maxis, ok je. route remains same.
i hav no experience certain site being slow, but there is time where whole line is down for hours.

pendek kata, maxis engineer lazy, just keep things as they were.
unifi engineer too smart, hari2 route change here change there, create unnecessary problem.

so TS your problem still there ?
may i know what video in youtube is considered slow to you ?

i just upgraded my 10 to 30MBps
viewing youtube : no problem so far
downloading torrents : no problem so far
diablo 3 : freakin high ping (4xx - 7xx)

if continue like that, i may have to use smartphone data plan to play online gaming.
tested after unifi disappointed me, digi gave me lower ping (2xx)

My friend has this theory:

Those who subscribe for unifi at original price (5mb - RM 149, 10mb RM199 etc) got no such issue because they have higher priority than those who subscribe at promotional price, eg Rm 169 for 10mb.
Those who recently upgraded to 30mb at rm2xx also got less issue (compared to Rm 169 for 10mb subscriber) because they are paying more.
Is it true?

Significantly less problems after I changed from their stock router to my own.
But once every 2-3 days shit will happen again for about 1-2 hours at night..

Otherwise things are pretty normal, despite the instability every once in awhile, from 3000kpbs DL can suddenly drop all the day to 50-60kbps, then back up again lol
My ping improved a lot after changing router.

Unifi stock router give me headache everyday
They come replace with another shit stock router which also gives me headache everyday

Asus got 3 years warranty, better range too and to my surprise - quite easy to set up.
So what say you?

I do agree on changing from stock router to other brands. I myself changed the stock router to TP Link.

What I saying is...depends on what do you want from your router.

Dual band needed? Or you prefer long range?

Do you need AC or N is just enuff?

That sort of things bro xD
