nice, just into 6 hours of the game

saw metal slime!!!!! when running away from dragon xD

anyone found metal slimes farming spot ? or king metal slime farming spot ? tongue.gif

auto revive? are you sure this is in the game? because i do have several characters died at the end of a battle and it stayed like that after until someone use zing on them to revive.

My.mistake, as my impression was only based on 2 Erik and hero.

Yes hero alone will revive with 1hp but not others

will suggest you wait till you get the combo skill from main character, princess and thief to change normal monster to metal slime.

oo so far, my hero never died yet which explain why i haven't experience the auto revive function yet

oh well, younger gen of gamer are well pampered unlike the older days of us hardcore players with all sorts of near impossible challenges thrown at us yet we still prevails.

games nowadays has lots of quality of life changes, to make it more welcoming to newcomers

auto saving it's a must nowadays, most won't have the patient to go thru the usual DQ classic saving process at church which will take up to a minute where you need to confirm few times laugh.gif
last time it might takes you an hour or more just to find a church to save your progress especially when you're in a new area

I have a 3ds, which I bought to just play ahem jrpg, dq4569. Those were brutal. The skills allocation were permanent, enemy damage were devastating, and the save point omg. Church and church and church only.

well, at least on 3DS you can just close the lid and leave it on standby anytime

last time old gen console where can standby, die die must find a church first before switching off laugh.gif
mom screaming behind while I'm "wait!! wait!! I need to save first!!" for half an hour to find a church laugh.gif

I think you misunderstood a bit. He is dead yes when battling, but the team mates can revive him. What he meant was when the battle is over only the hero will auto revived with 1hp. If other party member dies, need to revive from church or with skill. But hero if dead in battle will always have one hp and still alive. I think it makes a lot of sense, he is the hero after all.

Hero K.O not game over like Persona 5 at least for DQ11. So it's not an issue.

ah ok. i get it. thats kinda ok i guess. i thought during the fight he cant die. hahaha. confius. but persona 5 was damn annoying. good to know hero ko doesnt mean game over.

Beyond the Beyond, that was a title I haven't heard for more than a decade!

The golden age of JRPG, how I wish games are more similar today, but next gen gamers do not appreciate turn based system. I have known people who refused to touch Persona 5 because it was not an action RPG.

I have just completed Octopath Traveller on switch....that game is hard compared to DQ....the post game bosses side quest even harder than the bosses!  I havent kill all the side quest bosses yet...crazy. Also needs tons of grinding.

talk about brutal, Famicom/NES's FF3 final dungeon is what I called brutal

zero save point, few steps will trigger a battle, and you'll have to fight 4 difficult bosses first before you can defeat the final boss, which can wipe your team with a single attack doh.gif

By NES it means your ff6 = ff3 right? Kefka boss? That required u to use all your characters, tough luck for underleveled party. I played during psx re-release.

nope, the original FFIII, it was never released in the west for NES, it's released for famicom's short cartridge only, I have to use a converter to play it on my NES
I only managed to beat it after many years on the EN translated version ROM
it's only later 3D remake on DS & other modern platforms, which is easier

Imagine, the whole game is in Jap, with me near zero knowledge in Jap, have to play guessing game by reading few of the kanji
and in the era of internet dark age? Not helping also is the ultimate big boss at home with a rattan breathing down your neck laugh.gif

btw, FF6 is released as FF3 in the west previously
Kefka boss? piece of cake for me tongue.gif as I tends to overleveled my characters, old habits from olden RPG days tongue.gif

that's the part I like about DQ series, some humor there

you can cast zoom almost anywhere, but whether you hit your head on the ceiling or not is another story laugh.gif

too bad they remove this little humor in the latest DQ
