Unfortunately no , they have intentionally not doing the voice overs for JP / Chinese and and were still using the transparent frame menu because Japanese old school DQmania like them.

Not to mention I often find the English voice acting a little distracting in most localized jRPG.
Regardless this is a must play  , especially the epilogues of the game. .
Time travel in an old fantasy game is just way too cool smile.gif
P/S : Did I mention You get free games ( actual free games which are redeemable on PSN ) by beating DQ11 ?
*
I was very skeptical on English voice over for all JRPG, IMO most are horrible, until DQVIII, which is top notch
love the heavy accent they used, hope it will be similar for the English ver of XI

I found dq11 is significantly easier in comparison to its predecessors. Of course I'm just about 10h into gameplay, but various points have been tweaked to make it more user friendly.

1. Map will show important characters to talk to
2. Auto saving.
3. Auto revive characters after battle to 1hp
4. Objective text in map

I have played dq123456789 except 10, I would welcome the change but can't help the feeling that next gen gamers cannot adapt to old school dq?
*
oh well, younger gen of gamer are well pampered unlike the older days of us hardcore players with all sorts of near impossible challenges thrown at us yet we still prevails.

games nowadays has lots of quality of life changes, to make it more welcoming to newcomers

auto saving it's a must nowadays, most won't have the patient to go thru the usual DQ classic saving process at church which will take up to a minute where you need to confirm few times laugh.gif
last time it might takes you an hour or more just to find a church to save your progress especially when you're in a new area

I have a 3ds, which I bought to just play ahem jrpg, dq4569. Those were brutal. The skills allocation were permanent, enemy damage were devastating, and the save point omg. Church and church and church only.
*
well, at least on 3DS you can just close the lid and leave it on standby anytime

last time old gen console where can standby, die die must find a church first before switching off laugh.gif
mom screaming behind while I'm "wait!! wait!! I need to save first!!" for half an hour to find a church laugh.gif

I have completed Beyond the Beyond on PSX.

Insane game, not human play wan. Every few steps fight monster and grind kaw-kaw.

I have just completed Octopath Traveller on switch....that game is hard compared to DQ....the post game bosses side quest even harder than the bosses!  I havent kill all the side quest bosses yet...crazy. Also needs tons of grinding.
*
talk about brutal, Famicom/NES's FF3 final dungeon is what I called brutal

zero save point, few steps will trigger a battle, and you'll have to fight 4 difficult bosses first before you can defeat the final boss, which can wipe your team with a single attack doh.gif

Is it FF6 in the west? I have only played FF6 on emulators and nothing(FF series) b4 that.
*
QUOTE(Zeliard @ Sep 18 2018, 08:37 PM)
By NES it means your ff6 = ff3 right? Kefka boss? That required u to use all your characters, tough luck for underleveled party. I played during psx re-release.
*
nope, the original FFIII, it was never released in the west for NES, it's released for famicom's short cartridge only, I have to use a converter to play it on my NES
I only managed to beat it after many years on the EN translated version ROM
it's only later 3D remake on DS & other modern platforms, which is easier

Imagine, the whole game is in Jap, with me near zero knowledge in Jap, have to play guessing game by reading few of the kanji
and in the era of internet dark age? Not helping also is the ultimate big boss at home with a rattan breathing down your neck laugh.gif

btw, FF6 is released as FF3 in the west previously
Kefka boss? piece of cake for me tongue.gif as I tends to overleveled my characters, old habits from olden RPG days tongue.gif

There is something about DQ and ceilings. In DQ builders, if you try to use Chimera wings, you will hit ceiling if inside caves and it wont work.

Even outside, if there is something above blocking(etc, ledges), you will fly up, hit the ceiling, fallback and cant teleport.

Maybe its some kinda fetish of the developers...lol
*
that's the part I like about DQ series, some humor there

you can cast zoom almost anywhere, but whether you hit your head on the ceiling or not is another story laugh.gif

too bad they remove this little humor in the latest DQ
