they have to go in, they must go in
their bomba is diff from malaysia
their bomba is part of the army or armed police(武警) division, they are called 消防兵 and are governed under much stricter army rules.

also, if you see someone kena trapped, and you know there are explosion, are you going to stand there and watch them die due to explosion, or just try to save them before the explosion.

i dont know how true are this but damn they sure are true heroes if this is true
yes, theire firefighter is park under armed police group, but management using army style, rule and regulation.
so as "army" have go in first.
is very true, so many firefighter dead in china every year due to this culture.
there firefighter mostly very young and luck experience due to Term service like using Army. each firefighter serve 1 term (2 year) , first year is traning, than serve other 1 year than retire liao, than 30-40% only select go to 2nd term. than must retire, very little will serve 3 term. so a lot lack experience. mostly other country firefighter have 10-20 even hole life experience。

above reason, there /leader/commander/领导 alot give wrong order,or even city leader can override Fire officer order, like going to danger area like factory, shopping mall, oil plant ASAP without analyst than thing Collapse and explosion。 their fire official also need serve term so many also lack experiance.
This is firefighter problem now in china.

So the first batch firefighters didnt know there were dangerous material store on those warehouse when they go in ?

RIP for all the fallen firefighters.

like some of the others mentioned, they're part of the wujing 武警(Armed Police), which is governed partially by the Central Military Command.
they're primarily a reactionary force.. think of it as more of a military deployment than civil defence.

our Bomba lack so much new generation and high tech firetruck, also no enough fireman around 20%.
plant like Lynes, Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex (PIPC) need a lot hightech industrial firetruck which bomba no have now. each unit cost USD 2-3 million.
i wish Bomba should ask from (PIPC) and Lynes money to build new firehouse with 6-8 hightech industrial firetruck.

Expert: Cyanide may have been present in Tianjin blast

The possibility of there being cyanide at the accident site in Tianjin cannot be ruled out, the China Youth Daily reported on Thursday morning, following the series of huge explosions late Wednesday at a warehouse for dangerous materials in the city.

The newspaper quoted Doctor Wu Chunping's saying that the commodities stored at the explosive warehouse include hazardous chemicals such as sodium cyanide and toluene diisocyanate which can penetrate into human bodies through the skin and cause poisoning.

Dr. Wu suggested preventive measures be taken. People should better wear gas masks so as not to expose their mouths and skin, he said.

Wu explained that a single hazardous chemical explosion can be relatively easily targeted, while the situation in the Tianjin accident on Wednesday is different and more difficult to handle because it involved many varieties of hazardous chemicals.

In addition, a variety of hazardous chemicals will interact after the explosion to form more stable and more complex compounds and produce other toxic substances that fill the air and are difficult to dispel. Therefore, the follow-up work must include physical protection, Dr. Wu said.
