Hello brothers, this is Citibank thread yeah. If want to discuss bout maybank, better to go back maybank thread? Citibank got the most promotion in terms of dining and etc. Cashback 5% might look a lot to some but if you used Citibank's card to get discount off the final bill, you'll realised that it's better than just 5% For example you dine at somewhere fancy. 40% off your bills is better than Maybank's 20% / 5% cashback. So every card has its own pros and cons. See your usage only.

QUOTE(rhodon @ May 22 2017, 10:11 PM) Need to be so strict or not. Credit cards always will come to compare here and there. As u said pros and cons, cashback need accumulate RM20 and got AF. I apply citibank just because of the lazada voucher and cbtl buy 1 free 1. Some will say sure can waive but if bank cant waive then either we pay or cut. So,maybe next year me also force to cut and use back no AF card. One or two replies okay la. Sometimes we all go off tangent. But I noticed the discussion is heading to towards how good maybank Amex is. I don't deny it's good. In fact I usually max out 50 ringgit for Amex by the first week. But to say it's the best, don't think it's correct la. That's my opinion. And the final thing, if you apply a card with AF, you should be prepared to pay for it. Then you won't feel so frustrated when they bill you the AF

QUOTE(rhodon @ May 22 2017, 10:29 PM) for me, amex is not good coz limited and lots of card actually will have same 5% discount. no, i only apply the card with AF if they come with any discount vouchers, not because of this card is good. i never kena AF because i will cut all those cards before the AF come i not the type to call bank for waive coz dont know how it work~ It's not really limited per say la. So far I've managed to use Amex almost everywhere I go. In some smaller town maybe susah a bit, but in KL/PJ no problem. I don't call banks for waiver. They just waive it for me

QUOTE(radi0head @ May 28 2017, 02:27 PM) FYI, SMS transaction alert cannot be set online. It have the options there but every time I set it, it freezed my browser and after awhile, it shows 'Script Error'... Called in and CS said their side can't do it either. Damn~ Guess I need to walk-in to Citibank itself to request... what a bum... I want to set it to alert me on any transaction of RM50 onwards... I called in their customer service and managed to get it set to RM 1.00 last month or 2 months ago.

Maybe I got a lazy Customer Service Rep... As usual, if really can't, kindly ask for her name and write an email to BNM. The next day they'll call you and say can do one....

My Citibank cards are only used for 3 reasons. 1 - coffeebean 2 - Friday cinema 3 - petrol on weekdays if I'm desperate Other than this 3 purposes, I would know its not me lol.

Would like to know if there's a fix biling cycle for Citibank? How do I know the due date for the payment in order to avoid the late charges. Thanks in advance. Sign up an online account and see. You can choose the dates yourself if you want.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 4 2017, 10:15 PM) Thru website? I don't have 3K to spend now unless developers can accept CC for property booking fees. Big developer does. Swiped Amex for deposit before. No prob, just need to get your agent to work for you

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 5 2017, 10:13 AM) Noted guys, maybe that's a better option for me. Let's see if the agent will call me back after she received my documents. Side note : Car deposit also can pay with CC Nowadays, if you can afford it, the agent will how also try to make it work for you, esp if you tell him/her that your loan is very likely to be approved. Hope you found the right property Can even BT the downpayment to 6 months installment if you want.

QUOTE(justanovice @ Jul 30 2017, 10:27 AM) Thank you. You are right, the 2 CS who told me some other calculations - need some spanking. Finally i called another CS who explained exactly like your formula above. I also applied money transfer on the same day woops! By the way for those interested but did not receivevany sms (like me) make a call to citi to ask if you are entitled. Also this promo is expiring on 31st July Note: do not use your card for retail purchases as this BT works the same way as hsbc bt - no interest free for retail purchase when you have balance on the card. Actually this is the system used widely oversea banks. So be gladful our local banks are more lenient on this Just need to call in to request? I got 2 Citibank card, guess I'm gonna BT to 1 of them and use the another since I have to shelf the another card during the BT.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 10 2017, 09:19 AM) Ask them back why only grant you without Plat version since you have fulfilled the income requirement? If I were you, I will definitely ask. Fulfill income is one of the category. Banks can choose to offer you a different card or not offer you at all. Like PBB's case.... Income exceed.... Approval another story Side note : My Cashback Citi limit > 15k but they still issue me the normal card This post has been edited by chiahau: Aug 10 2017, 10:21 AM

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 10 2017, 10:26 AM) I understand approval is on bank's discretion but approving a lower level card must be something wrong. Cannot ask? Then what's the purpose of putting salary requirement and approves me with a lower level card? Citibank also got minimum CL for a certain card ma. Maybe salary lepas but banks can't offer that much CL due to their risk department reasoning. For me, card color or level does not matter. Janji can use and CL enough

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 10 2017, 10:54 AM) Hmm. The cap of cash back is different though for two levels of card. That is CL but this is lower level of card. Really? I never bothered coz i can never max out my citi CB card (since i use for petrol only for weekdays). I usually use the Clear for Coffee Bean and TGV on fridays. And occasional Dominos
