Perhaps you can consider to top up a bit for an i5 that comes with an OS. Uni student always have tons of assignments and hence, getting an i5 is more reliable in this case. Perhaps you can consider this one? Hope this helps a bit.

If you wanna go Dell, go for the XPS 13. FHD and 1.26kg only.

If you wanna go for a cheaper laptop with 256GB SSD but slightly weaker processor, Asus UX305 is a way to go. FHD and 1.2kg only.

If you think FHD is not good enough for movie, go for HP for QHD. It comes with a more powerful processor but at the same time, lower battery life.

But if you are watching movies with laptop speakers and not a dedicated headset, you can pretty much ignore Asus. The speaker is not good, for at least Dell and HP are powered by Waves MaxxAudio® Pro and Bang & Olufsen respectively. Hope this helps.

Hi, hope all the sifus here can help recommend laptop for me.

1. So far mine Asus is good. But am fine with other brands.

2. 3k - 3.5k. Plan to change to 240gb SSD after I buy the laptop (If the laptop is HDD).

3. Dota 2, Video streaming and movie, Excel and Access work....

4. Screen size not too big, have to travel sometimes.
By the way, any recommendation of getting gen5 or gen6 processor? Is it worth waiting for Gen6? I was looking at Asus laptop and all is still gen5 processor.
