Just wondering if you use the powder on a painted blue surface, will it have the reflective effect?
*
Lefts just say it's a super fine silver powder, so if u used blue base then you will have silver blue contrast instead of silver black chrome effect worth a try coz this baby quite worth it only a bit will shine like crazy, but given u have smooth glossy surface

Finally got my hg rick dias kai finished, there's a few disasters worth mentioning and hopefully no one repeat my mistakes:

1. chrome powder tends to clog up and appear effect like the side skirts if too much of gloss coat applied, have to be slight and fast spray in the 1st run
2. hg rick dias legs are extremely fragile, so if seam line removal is intended do handle it with extra care as mine tends to crack and have to redo all process again
3. the rest might be my 1st time trying modding on mesh, hence too much of 502 loctite applied showing less mesh and more glued surface, butter fingers on feet showing traces of loctite when modding them and hole drilling slightly slipped even the metal piece cant fully hide them...

then again overall results still quite ok, this kit is still under WIP as water decals design have yet to decide...

great weathering effect! you might also want to try out weathering powder which can provide a better weathering fade out effect!

gotta admit old time models really suck especially the beam sabers still have bubble in them lol

so bandai for the sake of god dont ever ever release a reborn version of this perfect gundam else i will be in deep, i mean REAL deep despair...

tempted to get RE Gundam Mark III.. any comments on this kits?
*
I only can answer you based on others reviews, its best among RE100 the only downside is it doesn't have inner frame...

also consider its simple build compare to mg lineup, pretty much you can build it within 30mins...

also if you do airbrush, consider this is a fairly good choice... (i think the straight build color separation a bit plain)

Yea I do plan to air brush it to other color laugh.gif

so you can pretty much imagine the hollow feeling when playing it, still it has pretty good reviews comparing other REs like the dijeh (heard its the worst)

its impressive how bf and bft series revived the old models in design and popularity...

just knew that hg gaia gundam from seed destiny got marked up to 3500 yen more than 100% hiked, just because of custom nyaia gundam design...

That is their intention.
Redesign a little and come out with new kits.
Plus once the self customization heat is on, even their add on parts and customization part is sellign better
*
yeah, else they will have to redesign on coming new series which they dun know the acceptance of the crowd better off using existing kits...

newer kits just dont have the kicks like it used to...

Its a good time to redesign their kit again as some are too old.
So its a win win situation for them to make old kit popular and also include new revived version.

G-self is something different, that is why not everyone can accept it.
But for the new incoming one, it should be good.
Already a few unit i plan to get it once launch.
*
hehe i'm taking more of a wait and see strategy as i think bandai has more up in their sleeves, they're just ensure to milk us kaokao 1st...

what would the outcome look like if you use MGM Chrome powder on Gloss Yellow or metallic Gold base?

also when you rub the powder on gloss black, is it possible to maintain the black chrome effect you get when you 1st rub them on, or will further touching/handling the surface turn them into chrome? what if you apply gloss coat or future floor when it's still black chrome? i don't know how the black magic powder can turn into chrome.
*
both gloss yellow and gold base will not give a superb chrome metallic effect, without a top coat these powder might rub off if you repeatedly touches the surface leaving patches of uneven chrome effect. so unless after you apply the powder and store it as display else top coat it is recommended.

but speaking of top coating it is a bit tricky, these powder tends to float even with the slightest thinnest layer, so there is a way of so called dry spray which most likely only air brush can do. just adjust to the lowest paint output and spray it.

my mini compressor cant maintain a steady pressured outflow so tends to fail from time to time...

so to keep it simple, this chrome powder is nothing but just super fine metallic powder that when you rub them on your glossy black surface, they will filled up all the tiny rough surfaces that eye cant see but felt like its not "shiny". so the mirror like chrome effect is nothing but super smooth surface (try imagine mirror like ice the smoother the surface the more mirror effect you will get)

so is it possible not to rub the powder until it's chrome and maintain the chrome black look?

Yes but surface evenness will be a challenge...

I think the SD EX is trying to make like next but in gunpla.
The design all look alike with the NEXT design.

Lol may be bandai is superstitious about the naming?

"No E.X Thanks" so changed to just EX...

Focus fully on RX-78 Origin MG now!
actually I agree with many who claim One Year War is the best design wise but Guess i will go with Origin and wait for Char Zaku Origin
*
i'm totally with you on this one coz origin design more bulkier than the others...
