Guys, mind telling me what's the difference between Non-grade 1/100 and MG 1/100? All i know is, older kits nid to glue, some need paint and a lot of details missing. Am i right? Did i miss anything?

miss a critical thing, an inner frame.

also may be color separation too, which all in all contributes to the total parts count for mg will have more part than ng...

+ easier to build
- see MG's "+"s

MG
+ color separation is better than NG (Most of the parts are molded in the correct colors) This won't matter if you are painting it.
+ proportions are normally better compared to NG
+ more details (panel lines, stickers)
- more expensive
- takes longer time to build.

Though if this is your first time building a Gundam, I guess you should start with a NG. A NG can look as good as a MG with enough effort put into it.

For certain MS, NG actually look good. Eg NG gold frame amatsu Thats because no MG haha

So NG it is ^^

basically NG is like scale up ver of HG
RG is like scale down ver of MG

well longer time to build will never be a "-"
there are some enjoyment value in building process

There is the Metal Build of the Gold Frame Amatsu... though its not exactly cheap...

Like jloi said, the NG is just the 1/100 version of the 1/144 HG. If you've built a RG before and like the details, you might be disappointed with the lack of details on it on the NG. There is also the fact that the NG doesn't have a flight pack (note that the MG flight pack is different from the HG Red Frame's Flight pack) Personally I would go with the MG version, though that's just my preference.

I currently still have an unbuilt RG Astray Red. Gonna build it 1st and see whether I think the extra features reli matter to me.

And i like a longer build time. Feel more satisfied after completion

It was old 1/100 scale for bandai before releasing MG kits for certain gundam. Seed has alot NG kits

I think the barbatos 1/100 should be something like Astraea 1/100 (no label).

urge you really build the rg 1st, if you think it ok meaning that ng never will satisfy your needs

mg red astray kai is really an overall good red astray kit to start with throughout the red astray lineup... unless you only want the plain red astray instead of the tactical weapon attached, so there's a p bandai mg red astray (yes you can curse bandai for that, we all do)

totally agree on you... pg is not so perfect in the end...

i think the bulky leg is more anime accurate if not wrong
