QUOTE(theskems @ Aug 12 2015, 02:01 PM) Hi All, Just walk in to nearest TM Point.I am currently on a VIP20 plan and living in Klang Valley area. Can I upgrade to VIP50 or is it only applicable for new application? Do I need to wait for a call from TM telemarketer? Thanks! If you are within the coverage, then you can apply. Within an hour you will be activated. Good luck. |

QUOTE(Hosaka @ Aug 12 2015, 02:57 PM) is it the same for VIP5 ? like just need the VIP30 to be activated instead of waiting for them to come over to my house to install Only for upgrade, not for installation. I'm not sure why these days new installations take so long, I registered my VIP5 last year's April. I got in within 4 days, if it is not I requested weekend installation, it could be much earlier. I found the dealer from Google, saw so many good testimonials. Damn efficient. QUOTE(crusher @ Aug 12 2015, 02:58 PM) Received a call from TM offering to upgrade from 10 to 30. Telemarketier told me my current quota only 90GB. After quota will slow down from 10mbps to 1mbps. Wtf lo. But its not for 30, it will be totally unlimited. Anyone can verify is this information true? Blood sucking TM Not true. Though it has quota but it is not implemented. No quota has been published for 30Mbps/50Mbps though. QUOTE(piecemealcranky @ Aug 13 2015, 12:48 AM) Well, for my daily of dose of anime, 10mbps is enough, and yeah, since consuming bandwidth mostly by myself, adding more speed seems like a bad investment. RM 169 is only for selected users. I used to pay RM 179 for VIP 10.And what? Same package? What trickery is this? I pay RM169 and the new 30mbps upgrade is RM199. o.o RM 199 is the standard price for VIP10, it is on their website. Anyway, nobody forces anyone to upgrade. I upgraded from VIP 5 to VIP 10 and now 30Mbps. I'm the only user and only using from Mondays to Thursdays, after work only, I will go back hometown on Friday-Sunday. Well, I only use it to stream videos and YouTube. Bad investment for me? I don't think so. Different people have different thinking. So long I enjoy my life and I can pay it every month, why not? Nobody is wrong or right in this context, only self-preference varies. This post has been edited by fruitie: Aug 13 2015, 12:54 AM |

QUOTE(jAkUn @ Aug 13 2015, 04:28 AM) Unifi 30 here! Me too!previously on vip 5. then when contract almost up, got promo of vip10. upgraded! then when contract almost up, got promo with Unifi 30, got poisoned already, upgraded! throughout all these years of using Unifi since 2011, I am very satisfied with Unifi with its stability and no breakdown. Been working from home, and only a few time the connection is down because of maintenance. Equipment also quite sturdy till today, it still doesnt show any signs of degrading! Sounds like too good to be true right? But this is a fact. And i am proud user of Unifi! heehoooo!! Can you please check your OCC UniFi? My contract didn't get refreshed, it is just continuing from my previous VIP5-VIP 10 contract which commenced in Dec 2014. |

QUOTE(theskems @ Aug 13 2015, 05:29 PM) My OCC Unifi also subscription updated but service start date remains the same. It's OK, if your OCC UniFi is updated that means your speed is already activated. BTW I didn't receive any SMS yet even though my OCC Unifi has been updated. Will check later once I reach home from office if my speed has increased. |

QUOTE(-oc-gassa @ Aug 13 2015, 06:11 PM) just got call from TM..she said those upgrading to VIP30 via telephone by TM will retain free call as before.. those who opt to upgrade via TM point don have this free call... Mine was from via phone and the telemarketer told me I won't have free calls anymore. Not that it matters, I didn't even install the phone set. |

My phone no. is also nice. The dealer who helped me to register my Unifi last year, purposely chose a no. which is very similar to my mobile no. Damn easy to remember.

QUOTE(LordSparda @ Aug 13 2015, 09:33 PM) I recently upgraded from my old VIP10 package up to the new Unifi 30 mbps package. It's a decent deal; I get to keep my platinum pack TV channels and pay the same amount (199+GST). However, what the sales guy neglected to tell me is that my apartment does not support 30 mbps... the most the speed will reach is around 20-25 mbps. Only found out when I complained to their hotline about the speed. Have you tried changing to another router or something? What do you guys think? I'm deciding between keeping Unifi, putting up with the poor speed, so I can keep my TV channels (I honestly don't watch them very much though), or switch over to Time which is basically the same price, but no TV (technically means its overpriced)? Also, is it possible to downgrade my package back to VIP10, because they extended my contract by 24 months already, so I have to pay penalty if I choose to cancel. |

QUOTE(BaronVonchesto @ Aug 13 2015, 10:02 PM) Anyone else think that youtube is being throttled? Forget about 1080p, youtube often defaults to 144p and often the max i can play it is 480p Some days is worse than others but right now anything higher than 144p will be stuck at buffering! No issue at all, on 1080p now.Using Unifi 20Mbps with ip range 175.143.xxx.xxx btw ![]() This post has been edited by fruitie: Aug 13 2015, 10:09 PM |

QUOTE(LordSparda @ Aug 13 2015, 10:34 PM) I'm using a relatively new ASUS N14UHP. It helps a bit... with the stock router I get around 20 mbps, with the ASUS I get 20-25 mbps. Still under speed though. My contract for VIP 10 only restarted last year's Dec and somehow for this 30Mbps, it didn't show new date for me. Still continues from previous VIP 10. They just called me and offered. This deal probably only comes through the phone/sales people (the TM store I go to don't even know about this 30 mbps package, lol). I think it's also because of contract, they offer special deals if your contract has expired, all for the purpose of extending your contract... |

Well, I seldom download things but my sister asks me to help her to download... I always direct download but well, this time in torrent. Only managed to get 3MBps = 24Mbps via Xunlei on my 30Mbps line.
Any better torrent client? |
