guys, anyone knows what is the approx cost of replacing a key fob for a 2013 Passat? apart from going to the dealer, are there any reliable shop/s in JB that provides this service?

My uncle lost/misplaced his and is currently using the spare. I just thought it would be good to get a spare key fob  in case he loses it again. sad.gif

Tia.

Hey guys, new here. If i could ask your opinion for the new Vento 1.2 TSI Hl. Went to test drive it. It feels good, responsive but i'm having reservation about the dual clutch gearbox system, the salesperson assured me that the gearbox problem are sorted out and the problem only persist on older dual clutch gearbox. What do you guys think about it? so a european car is my first choice but if all else fails jap car will do. Looking forward to read your opinion. Thanks

I thought Passat CC and Passat are 2 different cars?
*
lol...when I initial sourcing the car, it confused the hell out of me.

There is:-
VW Passat CC (last model is 2011/2012)
VW CC (newer model)
VW Passat (1.8L model)

Passat CC uses DSG wet clutch - DQ250 6speed

Mine was to fix the roof clothing...but they do cushion, etc as well

looks like they are good at restoration, saw a Ferrari and a old Volks van (9 seater) being restored ground up

Which SC (Klang Valley) do you guys bring your VW for servicing and problem rectification? I know all SC can do servicing but not many are good at tackling problems, already had the worst experience at Hartamas SC. TIA.

USJ is not bad, but the waiting time is long...at times car get delayed....

Hi guys, need some help and advice from all if this nut lock Is available for your car?

Unfortunately mine is misplaced and could not be found. My tyre is punctured and I could not replace my tyre.

I've dropped my car to SC Sg Besi but the funny thing Is they don't even have the nut lock to open it.

Appreciate any advice if you have the same nutlock or where I can get it settled.

Many thanks.
*
SC should have the master nutlock to unlock. I did mine at USJ SC.

Mine lost too. The key (pattern) to each lock is different, hence cant be interchanged, as I understand it.

I bought mine from VAG. SC had to order from Spore...sigh

looking to buy a used 2012 vw cc, anything to take note ? will be getting a full service record vw cc. the car look damn gooding and luxury
*
Is this VW Passat CC or VW CC? VW CC, if Im not mistaken is 7speed; dry DSG right?

I own a Passat CC (6 speed, wet DSG), so cant really say much about 7 speed.

overall its a fun car to drive, the power is awesome, stable and very economical.

7 speed dsg. been reading forums and found out the usual problem that happens, is the 7 speed. it has full service record.. but i'm afraid this car giving me problem after 5years + usage, as I planned to use this car for another 10years
*
exactly...i was afraid of the same thing as well, hence got the passat cc with wet dsg. But I cant really say much, need to keep feedback from those who owns one.

I dont like to hear from a 3rd party, where they say, I hear, my friends friends, my bros friend, kinda stories.

I own korean cars as well, they are such a value for much and realize, as per my experience, initially was skeptical reading online horror stories, but bit the bullet and got those as well, been serving me well for the past 7 yrs

hence I do encourage to get first hand information from couple of owners

Actually, I like new car also, who doesn't right? But the tax is ridiculous in Malaysia and doesn't seem worth it to pay a few more ten thousands for something that will readily devaluate in 1-2 years after you buy it. Would like to hear your opinion too.

Where is the VW forum you mentioned bro?
*
I would suggest to just bring it to a VW SC and get it check, you will get full history and a check. Do ask for a report and printout as part of the checkup. Else, some centers dont provide them.

Can I bring the car to check even before I buy it though?
*
Definitely, thats the intention!

Talk tot he seller, either private or a reseller, that you wanna bring the car for inspection, and will decide after the checkups. It cost of inspection is your.

Then fix an appointment at the SC that you wanna bring the car for fullcheckup, to understand, parts that been changed, any repair needed, and previous history.

SC to SC the changes differs, I have seen as low as rm80 to rm300.

Let's say if the seller agrees for the checkup, will he put good parts inside and after the checkup, he removes the good parts?
*
Thats really difficult to say, but in general, its not easy to perform the replacement on major parts.

ANd moreover if they had been replaced, the ECU would have a log, and when you perform the checkup it should appear in your report from SC
