Interested in investing in a P3A.

Does it have any sort of obstacles avoidance function similar to the P4?

Just bought the Phantom 3 Advanced from DJI. I have no prior flying experience with quadcopter. Anything that I should look out for.
Regarding the SIRIM thing that you all talked about, do we really need to apply for the permit? Last check, permit was not required a few month ago when I imported Ninebot balance scooter from China.

None. As long as you fly safely and away from objects, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

I thought VAT and import tax are already include in the selling price, no? I know that anything above RM500 will be subject to GST, however, if the seller promised to handle this for us, we are not suppose to pay anything. Like my previous purchase of Ninebot scooter, the seller handle everything for me. I just wait to receive the goods with no interference with custom or shipper.

Also, the SIRIM cert. How to apply for it? This is something new to me. I do import a lot of gadget from Amazon and eBay but this is new to me.

this is a few page back by one of user who buy from DJI

sorry for late reply. got my drone 2 days ago , haven't fly yet as need source for tablet
If buy from DJI directly, DJI will cover the DHL transportation and GST/VAT fees (it is stated in the website), on your side you need to pay for SIRIM permit at rm37.10 (around 1-2  days approval depends on branch). SIRIM will send the approval via email to you, and you forward it to DHL. Then DHL will settle the rest and you can wait for your drone.

Best if you wait DJI website discount/promo , I think now got promotion on standard, advance and 4k model (not pro version) .
If you got a student email account , you get additional 10% discount.

I got mine with free bag and another battery(after minus off the 10% discount).

you also need to monitor the currency exchange  hmm.gif , dont buy when USD is alot higher, else you will pay more.

hope this help.. i think you need to call sirim or visit their website..

Thanks for the info. By the way, can we get the shipper to settle the SIRIM for me or I have to do it myself? I would rather pay a bit more for them to settle it for me.

U might lose signal, which triggers return to home. That is, if you set it to rth instead of hover before takeoff.

Update:
My unit already arrived in Penang custom and ready for clearance. However, they are asking for AP permit + SIRIM:shock: . Funny that we need an AP to import 1 quadcopter. Anyway, I have contacted AnsarComp to apply the permit on my behalf. I will just paid for their services.

Same here, first time flyer here. If you don't mind to fork out some extra cash, get the Phantom3 Advanced just like me. I was initially wanted to get the professional version. However, since I am a novice flyer, I don't want to risk destroying the pricier Professional than the Advanced.
Planned to get the professional once I have familiarized and mastered with the control.

Yeah haha. But great footage nonetheless. I think it's probably something to do with your settings. Try to tone down the default sharpness at -3. And try again haha
