i got out of xle and oih some weeks ago.

i have stayed out since and only played coins with inverses - dwti, sco or ery.

will get back into xle and oih only when there are major development... opec firm action, more major m&a like recent schlumberger+cameron, maybe oil majors mergers...?

and crude at say... 35? tongue.gif

The lowest we seen so far last monday during the bear raid was 37.75.. intraday, so the bears must make another raid to take out that last week low for this to happen. If happens again, I think the general market also tank, not just oil/energy sector. sweat.gif

My oil ctr has dropped by 80% but it is still paying out its monthly dividends. It has recently purchased another oil asset sold at a reasonably cheap price, hence adding to its bbls/day figure. It still has available bank facility for further acquisitions. I wonder how this ctr of mine will turn out later on.

Waah.. so nice. "monthly" dividends? Is that local/asean stock instead of us stock? hmm.gif

tonite...spared of china's wild swings for next 2 days...

This one (4.25), I like but because of the of the spread, greedy bank won't let me buy the Ringgit at 4.25.
Therefore, I need it to go to 4.28-4.30 level to get the real rate of 4.25. I will try to ask the bank again this weekend.

I think tonight, we may not need see any wild swing until tomorrow (August jobs report). If job reports are strong, interest rate bear may come and scare market again. Then, we got 3 days weekend. Anyway, another trip to JB for meals and shopping trips. biggrin.gif

It is also long weekend. Traders take money off no matter what the job numbers are.

Anyway, will try to get 1usd to rm4.25 rate buy rate this weekend. Saw the trade 4.29 already.
Hopefully, it will work. tongue.gif

I think Ringgit is cheap too. Didn't expect it would drop to 4.37. Glad to see some support here.
It needs to back down to 4.25 or below now but stay above 4.00 is ok for me. tongue.gif

Don, here it comes. Oil company invested in water business.  tongue.gif

PetroChina acquired a bottled water business at low profile After Sinopec,PetroChina also entered into the bottled water business. A high end water brand in China, Aershan Mineral Water, who suffered from high gearing, was acquired by PetroChina recently. Market believes that PetroChina’s move is to expand its marketing business by creating more income sources. It also helps PetroChina diversifying its business under the recent low oil price environment. Sinopec entered into the bottled water business a year ago as a way of SOE reform. However, market comments that profitability in the bottled water business may not be as high as expected given the keen competition and huge initial capex.
*
Haha! Makes more business sense, right? People needs clean (drinking) water than cheap gas if oil continues the downward spiral,
no point investing billions to dig for crude but just a few millions for water bottling plant will do.
Besides.. the profit margin for bottled water can be very high. Heck, I was at Shanghai Pudong airport.. you know how much they can charge for small bottled water? RMB 45... wtf? doh.gif

opec comments, iran, rig count seem not to matter much, usually fizzles out in a day or 2.

the biggie is the hedge funds - i will not go against their longs and shorts! biggrin.gif

their positions can change quickly, interesting days ahead...

QUOTE(Hansel @ Sep 21 2015, 04:11 PM)
The prb is as bolded. They can always take on new short positions after they closed out the earlier ones.
*
Tough to take either direction because it can gaps up so much the next day.
I'm still neutral here for oil/energy.. it seems to be forming a base here if it can hold psyhe $40 support level.

No trading last week and this week. Too busy with other paperwork. Got my Ringgit settled and making the big purchase in JB.

Hopefully, you guys continue to catch some good quality groupers! thumbup.gif

just finished reading some top financial houses analysts comment on rm....

rm will remain sluggish (actually they were trying to say 'declining' or weak) due to ...

potential fed dec hike
weakening china economy
declining prices in crude n palm oil
unpredictable local political arena

which of the above will reverse the direction to push rm? i doubt it ...

damn gloomy weather around these days

dow - 1xx
europe -1.5-2%

still, utterly confused whether to buy and buy what! laugh.gif

You know, I felt only last 2 maybe internal factors but should not have cause the ringgit to slump like this unless
Malaysians also dumping Ringgit. hmm.gif
