I'm interested in a pool session..getting a pair of travel fins and wanna see if the reviews are as glorious as they sound.
On a different note, any DIY ideas for cam housing mount, handle and strobe arms?

Easier to DIY with those generic ports i feel. Any ideas?

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Aug 7 2015, 10:18 PM) Which fins are you planning to get? oceanic/aeris accel..light, neutrally buoyant and reviews said its power is no less compared to other paddle fins..hopefully it can assist my efforts to achieve the trim i want. lol. I'm taking the reviews with full skepticism though..how can light fins generate enough force compared to longer heavier fins amirite? Anyone with experience using it? How about the maneuverability?

Getting Started

Managed to get my advance and squeezed in two dive trips this year!
Although other than my prescription mask (too blind without specs no choice), still don't have any other gear yet.
Rationally I think I want to get a dive comp and fin+booties. Got blisters from rental fins on my last trip, and walking on rocky shore with tank so mafan and painful :/.
But emotionally I really want an UW camera setup lol (not gopro). Rented one Olympus Tough with casing last time and had so much fun with it, kind of helps me slow down too.

I have the accel.... it was intended for traveling use but I like it so much that I have been diving exclusively with it for the past 1 year.... my other fins are the xstream and volo.... accel is very light... small(can fit cabin size luggage!!)... comfy and is as fast as the xtream... maneuverability is better than xtream especially in tight places...

Niccce...so this removes all doubt. For maneuverability, is it stiff enough to do reverse frog kicks easily? haha..

Not so for me though. I rushed into photography but i was still awkward with my trim and delicate movements required for good position and lighting. But that's just me. i love photography on land and i'm pretty confident with my skills, but its a whole new thing to do it in water.

Thanks for the advice and I definitely agree Just sometimes when something interesting happen will still wish that I had a camera on hand. Will just live in the moment for now I guess Also considering getting a backup prescription mask, just in case my current one decides to leak or something then my dive trip habis...$$$$! I prefer contacts over prescription mask. Bring extra contacts easier lol. Well, most of the time, when you get a camera, you'll miss out on some things happening in front of your eyes also. Because most of the time we will be focusing on the camera too.

Video quality is pretty impressive..with a red filter it's just as good as a gopro..too bad no LCD to review what's captured. Like shooting film. On the contrary, more dive time and awareness than 'chimping' over past shots.
