Which credit card offer cashback/reward points for insurance premium payment (autodebit).

I'm using aeon watami at the moment, but im looking to use a different card as i'm having problem reaching the minimum 3k spending per quarter.

The insurance provider only allow visa and mastercard for autodebit, so I can't use amex m2cards for treats points as well
*
how much is your insurance? you pay monthly or quarterly or annually?

About rm200 per month, monthly.
Would prefer to pay monthly premium

if watami can't, you may try hlb essential but 1% only.

Thanks for the recommendation. Now I'm considering RHB or AmBank Platinum. Both are kind of similar. Anybody has any experience on either or both cards that could help me decide? AmBank's is free for life but called RHB and they say can waive the annual fees.
*
rhb free 4x ppl (no requirement).
ambank free unlimited ppl (with 3x overseas swipes).

1. Annual Income: RM60-70K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes/auto-waive with minimal swipes

3. Card required for: List all your needs
Petrol - 100
DailyLunch/Weekend Dining/Dating - 600-700
Touch & Go - 100-200
4. Existing credit cards if any: nil (plan to take only 1 cc)

5. Looking at CC from: not sure, cimb(salary), but opt for oversea bank e.g. citibank (any benefits when travelling to overseas?, travel oversea twice a year)
*
mbb ikhwan or hlb wise for petrol and tng (reload under grocery). you may need another card for dining, perhaps mbb2cards or hlb mach.

so yeah, mbb ikhwan + mbb2cards (both free for life) or hlb wise + hlb mach (af applies). you may also choose mbb ikhwan (free for life) + hlb mach (af waived with 12x swipes).

3. Card required for: insurance 200 and internet bill,

4. Existing credit cards if any: RHB premium(staff)

Others: I currently dont have car yet, so petrol rebate not important for me, I just like use CC swipe when no extra charge, spending include dining or some booking for entertainment,  just because my that rhb staff card point seem useless, so looking another CC, Thanks,
*
since petrol not important, choose aeon watami 3% (with spending requirements) or hlb essential 1% (no spending requirement).

Was wondering if this is the right place to ask, but I can't seem to find the right section for this.

I was wondering, to get a personal loan, banks would want you to have a credit history, correct?

Currently, I have no loans to repay and I have no CC. Should I be getting a credit card to build my credit history so that I can apply for a loan in the future? smile.gif
*
yes, it's good to get a cc to build your credit history. anyway, some loans (especially car loan) will approve without any credit history too.

QUOTE(kart @ Sep 27 2015, 03:19 PM)
1. Annual Income: RM60K. Willing to accept card with lower credit limit, as long as the benefits from the card are worthy.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must. Card with annual fee can be acceptable, if the annual fee can be offset with the card benefits.

3. Card required for: payment for Streamyx, electricity and mobile phone bill.
Occasional pharmacy purchase, but not frequent.
Grocery and petrol transactions are now paid with Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Card.

4. Existing credit cards if any: Maybank 2 Cards, Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Card.

5. Looking at CC from: Perhaps Hong Leong Wise Card.

6. Others: Prefer cashback, but points is acceptable, if the points are worthy.

I just want to make sure that Hong Leong Wise Card suits my purpose well. Of course, other suitable credit cards can be proposed as well.  smile.gif
*
yes, if your bills are high enough to be separated into a few rm50, you may consider hlb wise. so you may choose utility+*grocery/petrol+mobile(bonus).

*since grocery and petrol already covered by your mbb ikhwan, you may consider either grocery or petrol as your backup choice to make it easier for you to achieve rm50 x 10 (in case you couldn't make it in certain months).

is it better than hong leong MACH ? im too new to credit cards, may i know the differences? biggrin.gif thank you !
*
what do you aim for in hlb mach card? if it suits you, of course it can be better. for example, dining with hlb mach can get 5% everyday compared to mbb2amex only during weekends, but it is 5%+5xtp.

but another point to take note is that more restaurants accept visa/master compared to amex. nod.gif

3. Card required for: 0% instalment plan, Petrol, Cash Back/Rebate Only and/or AirMiles

4. Existing credit cards if any: UOB ONE CARD

5. Looking at CC from: Maybank 2 cards? (any other card better than this card with annual income within RM36k to RM60k?)

6. Others: Please be specific.: No
Additional question: To date, I only know the UOB ONE card imposed annual fee. Is there any posibilities to waive the annual fee?

Thank you  smile.gif

you may go for mbb ikhwan which gives you 5% cb on petrol on friday and saturday. mbb2cards now only good for dining in the weekends with the amex card.

for uob one, you may try to call for waiver. yes, it's possible to waive off the af. no special conditions and it fully depends on each individual.
