And with ALL AIB cards priced HIGHER than FE pricetag at this moment, I wonder who is the bigger fool here: those who bought FE cards and still manage to get the same performance of the supposed pre-OCed AIB cards after everything is pushed to the limit, or those who buy AIB with pre-OCed settings but got their results LOWER than FE cards? Hilarious!
Not all, the MSI model as in that video you shared is priced lower.

For me, small savings cannot justify lack of warranty support
EVGA has international warranty. biggrin.gif

What I meant was the price you can get from retailers now on Amazon, NCIX or Newegg, none of them reflect the MSRP, they're bloated price.

Ehhh, FE looks MSRP to me.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....ICE&PageSize=30

And the many AiB being cheaper.

As for the MSI, I don't know why by on Newegg it costs more than FE but here http://ecshweb.pchome.com.tw/search/v3.3/?q=gtx%201080 you can get it cheaper.

LEL. So much for "cheaper than FE" eh? tongue.gif As I recalled, the MSI FE was RM3319, or around that range.
Their FE price is ridiculous to being with. biggrin.gif

As much as I like ASUS products, I'm staying away from their graphics card line-up. I'm with with their mobo but just not the graphics card, too much a premium to pay.

I'll be getting a Zotac 1070 in the coming days. Heck my rig would be powering it at today's Nvidia event. biggrin.gif

Can't wait to try it out. No 1080 also nmind, will test out the 1070 against GTX 980 Ti.

Haven't I Said This Much Earlier:

"No one (manufacturer) is gonna build a custom OC card and PRICE it Below a reference card"
ASUS pricing memang like that, sometimes cannot brain also.

But if you look at brands like MSI, they do have AiB models that are cheaper than FE. You can refer to various sites............ .but I can't say the same for Malaysia, we'll see once they arrive.

1. mic was fixed after 5 minute mark, took a while to get the feedback on volume. Was using Lav mic, then later decide to use the mic from the device itself.

2. oh yes I could. Even with good sleep my eyes already have a shade, when lack sleep I become panda. tongue.gif

Using 8pin means can draw up to 225W. I don't see how it can limit OCing potential.

My 1070 here I can OC +230 on core for stable all benchries. +250 on core if I'm not picky on passing all benchmarks. +250 and my unit fails at Unigine Heaven on 4K UHD, at +240 my unit fails at Metro Last Light

Really love the new reference cooler design. It's so nice compared to the previous generation designs.

They've added backplate to it which is a really neat touch. Last time GTX 980 Ti reference, no backplate. Ugly like silly.

Hence the RGB colors on the cooler shroud that many brands are promoting on AiB units are useless. biggrin.gif

It's the part of the graphics card I see the least, I think I see the I/O more than the fans once it's in place.

still, can't deny that big ass cooler and lots of fans does looks appealing in some ways
Feel good only. biggrin.gif

Also nowadays buy aircond to cool the room might be a better option than spending on custom water cooling.

biggrin.gif Talking about who is more unker ah?

Well my very first actual 3D card was a Canopus 3Dfx Voodoo, I bought it because it has 6MB VRAM instead of 4MB as on other Voodoo cards.

Bought it from money earned doing part time job while studying.

Actually the RX480 may affect the 1070.

You see, the 1070 price is around RM 2k - 2.5k range.

So RX480 if at half the price and can deliver 75% performance, then it'll make people consider the RX480 more than the GTX 1070.

All other GTX 900 series that's supposedly price dropped will have to be dropped further.

far from half price in bolehland
RX480 - RM1249
GTX1070 - RM1999
IF at half for easier calculation.

GTX 1070 at RM 1999 is only one particular brand of which at this point of time I have no confidence on after-sales support.

Even if we go with the above price. ~60% price but can deliver 60% - 75% performance, that also makes it a winner already. It doesn't kill the GTX 1070 in any way because after all price to performance ratio is less impressive on the higher range but what it does is that it makes all other cards both from red and green camp look bad.

Wouldnt the 1060 be released and tweaked to match or be better than the RX480 instead then?

Since thats where the mainstream graphics is, the GTX X60 series
Correct but as we all know is there's still no card that hits the sub GTX 1070 range.

The RX480 will be the 1st one to do so.

GTX 1060 - that one we can only talk when we see some leaked performance and rough estimation of arrival date, and price too. biggrin.gif

At this point of time the RX 480 is certain on price and launch date, just the performance is +/- due to limited info.

I'm hoping to get the card early, then you guys can come watch my LIVE session with the RX480. biggrin.gif

SLI mid range can be nice but only IF the game scales very well with it.

Generally it's not, because you get a mix of good ones, not so good ones and really bad ones.

As I always tell people - leave the SLI stuff only to the top range, not necessarily highest range but it has to be something that after SLI-ing be able to provide greater performance than a single highest end available.
