I'm still waiting to see whether any site does other form of testing that gives GTX 980 Ti the advantage.

GTX 980 Ti has more CUDA cores and more memory bandwidth.

Yes it has better power to performance ratio but before you go out change the GTX 980 Ti to a 1080, do know that it's not going to make a huge impact on your electricity bill if you're just gaming an hour or 2 a day.

Your loss from selling off the GTX 980 Ti to get a 1080 would surely be more than the amount saved on electricity bill.

Keep in mind also that if you have satisfactory framerate with GTX 980 Ti then the 1080 would not make your gaming experience any better.

ultra settings 4k resolution tom clancy's the division at 42 fps... playable? yes, but it's not 60fps lets put it that way. but at ultra settings at that reso o_o; hm nice.
I'm using Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming GTX 980 Ti.

As it is I get 40 fps on The Division, Ultra Settings on 4K.

Once I overclock it +75 core +200 mem, I get 42 fps.

Basically a reference card, priced at practically 700 bucks(2859MYR, 21 May 2016, 1503hrs).
Wishful thinking to go by exchange rate, it will never ever be based on exchange rate.

Founders Edition is priced at RM 3,399.

what bottleneck? very little bottleneck to none if you ask me

even a Sandy Bridge user have no issues pushing the GTX980 Ti

depending on game, an i5 is more than adequate

The bottleneck can be quite significant.

High end models of GTX 980 Ti are now seen at prices as low as RM 2,700.

So now, what's the point of selling off any GTX 980 Ti at sub RM 2,800 range which is around 15% - 30% from the price of purchase, after top up another RM 600 - 800 for 1080.

In the end losing some RM 1k+/- just to gain a bit of performance.

biggrin.gif Note "Can be".

Notice how they run without AA and all. Once you put all those settings up and framerates go lower then the gap is narrowed.

I do think it's best to get a reasonable processor, for example some people say it's even find to game on a Pentium G3258 OC but I've personally experienced running a G3258 at 4.5Ghz with a GTX 980 and the performance drop was so bad it looks like GTX 960.

* I made a mistake when installing processor, supposed to install i5-4670K but installed the G3258. I didn't see the label, just plug in and run on same OC settings.*

Make sure the GTX 950 you order is around RM 600. Price drop to around that range already.

Worth upgrade gtx970sli for gtx1080?
You benchmark the games on your setup, the compare to the benchmarks of 1080.

970 price drop a lot already, new ones can be bought for RM 1000 - 1200 range, if not now also really soon.

So if you actually do sell off you might get it for RM 1800 - 2000 only (for both) and on top of that you still have to top up a huge chunk of money for 1080.

I know why because it came with stupid figure that cost extra rm 300 haha other than that their component is high quality.
But AFAIK the FE models are the same across all brands.

I have read the article on your website.

Just like to ask whether the Cooler on the Colourful GTX1080 is the same as the Artic Cooling Accelero Xtreme version or it is something entirely developed by Colourful.

Thanks in advance in your thoughts about this.

No idea, I will try to ask them.

I'm meeting them next week. rclxms.gif

Could you post your discussion with them here after you have met them?

I am interested in the not so famous brand like Zotac, Colourful and Inno3D.

Thank you in advance.
Normally I just let them present, and then put video of it.

Flying off in a few days, gonna meet with as many brands as possible.

Gigabyte already kacau me to try their VR (which I think using 1080), Zotac also kacauing me to meet them. biggrin.gif

Gonna be a long week ahead.

Landed on number #48 on the Firestrike Ultra Hall of Fame benchmark leaderboard for single card. Not gonna last long, once the horde of folks getting their cards starts benching, I'll be buried.
Do you have anything that can read your system power draw?

Waiting to see if it's possible to get performance above 980Ti with power draw of a GTX 970.

That'll be really sweet.

Currently the highest Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon CPU based GTX 1080 benchmark score in the Hall of Fame Firestrike Ultra single card run. The rest have their scores either inflated by their 5930K or 6700K CPU scores.
This is why I don't do 3D Mark. I don't like benchmark scores that rise and fall based on processor.

About fan noise, most fans work silently at 40% RPM. If in a case / enclosure then you can go 50% - 60% range at it should be quite silent.
